The Essence of the Religious Concepts Framed by the Indian Companion of Jesus !

After studying the world religions that existed at that time, Ganid, the son of the Indian businessman on business tour to the middle east who was travelling those regions together with the Jewish youth called Jesus of Nazareth for almost an year formulated his own concepts of a religion with the able guidance he received from his Jewish guide. Ganid and his business man father, Gonod, by this time could guess that the friendly interpreter who had been with them for this long period was not an ordinary person, but a man of adorable qualities.[Know more about Gonod and his son Ganid here !] But they never imagined that this Jesus with whom they travelled for all these months is the human incarnate of a Creator Son of God who was responsible for the material creation of this part of a galactic region called the local universe where already over 3.8 million planets like earth are blooming with advanced life forms like the humans of earth.

Ganid could study the essence of these religions now known as  Cynicism, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, Jainism, Shintoism, Taoism and  Confucianism by collecting all available information on these religions from Alexandria and Rome during their long journey with the help of Jesus. Finally he compiled the essence of what he called "Our Religion".

The following was essentially what he compiled as the essence of the religious beliefs for any noble person:

The Lord our God is one Lord, and you should love him with all your mind and heart while you do your very best to love all his children as you love yourself. This one God is our heavenly Father, in whom all things consist, and who dwells, by his spirit, in every sincere human soul. And we who are the children of God should learn how to commit the keeping of our souls to him as to a faithful Creator. With our heavenly Father all things are possible. Since he is the Creator, having made all things and all beings, it could not be otherwise. Though we cannot see God, we can know him. And by daily living the will of the Father in heaven, we can reveal him to our fellow men.

The divine riches of God’s character must be infinitely deep and eternally wise. We cannot search out God by knowledge, but we can know him in our hearts by personal experience. While his justice may be past finding out, his mercy may be received by the humblest being on earth. While the Father fills the universe, he also lives in our hearts. The mind of man is human, mortal, but the spirit of man is divine, immortal. God is not only all-powerful but also all-wise. If our earth parents, being of evil tendency, know how to love their children and bestow good gifts on them, how much more must the good Father in heaven know how wisely to love his children on earth and to bestow suitable blessings upon them.

The Father in heaven will not suffer a single child on earth to perish if that child has a desire to find the Father and truly longs to be like him. Our Father even loves the wicked and is always kind to the ungrateful. If more human beings could only know about the goodness of God, they would certainly be led to repent of their evil ways and forsake all known sin. All good things come down from the Father of light, in whom there is no variableness neither shadow of changing. The spirit of the true God is in man’s heart. He intends that all men should be brothers. When men begin to feel after God, that is evidence that God has found them, and that they are in quest of knowledge about him. We live in God and God dwells in us.

I will no longer be satisfied to believe that God is the Father of all my people; I will henceforth believe that he is also my Father. Always will I try to worship God with the help of the Spirit of Truth, which is my helper when I have become really God-knowing. But first of all I am going to practice worshiping God by learning how to do the will of God on earth; that is, I am going to do my best to treat each of my fellow mortals just as I think God would like to have him treated. And when we live this sort of a life in the flesh, we may ask many things of God, and he will give us the desire of our hearts that we may be the better prepared to serve our fellows. And all of this loving service of the children of God enlarges our capacity to receive and experience the joys of heaven, the high pleasures of the ministry of the spirit of heaven.

I will every day thank God for his unspeakable gifts; I will praise him for his wonderful works to the children of men. To me he is the Almighty, the Creator, the Power, and the Mercy, but best of all, he is my spirit Father, and as his earth child I am sometime going forth to see him. And my tutor has said that by searching for him I shall become like him. By faith in God I have attained peace with him. This new religion of ours is very full of joy, and it generates an enduring happiness. I am confident that I shall be faithful even to death, and that I will surely receive the crown of eternal life.

I am learning to prove all things and adhere to that which is good. Whatsoever I would that men should do to me, that I will do to my fellows. By this new faith I know that man may become the son of God, but it sometimes terrifies me when I stop to think that all men are my brothers, but it must be true. I do not see how I can rejoice in the fatherhood of God while I refuse to accept the brotherhood of man. Whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. If that is true, then all men must be my brothers.

Henceforth will I do my good deeds in secret; I will also pray most when by myself. I will judge not that I may not be unfair to my fellows. I am going to learn to love my enemies; I have not truly mastered this practice of being Godlike. Though I see God in these other religions, I find him in ‘our religion’ as being more beautiful, loving, merciful, personal, and positive. But most of all, this great and glorious Being is my spiritual Father; I am his child. And by no other means than my honest desire to be like him, I am eventually to find him and eternally to serve him. At last I have a religion with a God, a marvelous God, and he is a God of eternal salvation.

THE URANTIA BOOK : WHY I BELIEVE IT WHILE MOST CHRISTIANS DON'T !

Some months back I introduced a page titled Crucial Questions & Answers [C-Q&A] on the Urantia Book for the benefit of the readers of the website Urantia-India. This website in itself was a humble effort to introduce this great revelatory book to my countrymen.

Ever since this revelatory book got published in 1955 scores of spiritually curious truth seekers have been doing such efforts to make the contents of the book known to similarly inclined human beings of the modern era.

Since there is a lower probability of the Urantia-India website getting the attention of those browsing the Internet, I felt a strong desire to reproduce some content from that site to this blogpost site, for enabling it to be noticed by a larger audience of truth seekers.

The following was a crucial question that I asked myself :

What are the reasons that keep making me convinced about the truthfulness of the Urantia Book ? Why I consider this book not a hoax creation of some clever human beings ?

My answer to this crucial question is this:

When I began reading randomly from some papers of the book initially I too had this kind of a doubt coming to my mind. Essentially that was because of the unusual phraseology and the occurrences of many unusual words commonly not found in English language. Besides, the book deals with many subjects like history, science, religion, spirituality, geology, etc, which was not the way in which we normally are accustomed with books. In books, we normally expect to find some subject matter of specific interest and not something that goes beyond our interest at the moment.

For the majority of people, this would be reason enough to discard the book as something rubbish and leave it there.
Most likely they will not attempt exploring it further by careful reading.
Then there is the problem of religious dogmas and upbringing. If someone says that this is a book that teaches something different from their holy religious book, a kind of fear sets in. The common people are taught to believe that such books are 'satanic'.
For example, the Christians consider religious books of other religions in that manner, the Muslims consider the same way and the like. Again among the same religions, various sects and denominations consider their teachings sacrosanct and others' teachings originating from Satan! Thus there is a type of fear in common people to view books that deals with spiritual matters differently than their own belief systems. This matter is a delicate issue.
But the Urantia Book has enough things for those who are daring and curious. Therefore, those of this kind would naturally pursue reading this book to know more. In essence, the Urantia Book is meant for such people. These are the kind of people who are intellectually keen with above average IQ , educational background and have risen to such levels that they are inclined to devote time for intellectual pursuits of mind that goes beyond their day to day problems involving materialistic existence.
This implies that such people are now in a position to devote some of their time and mind in the pursuit towards spiritual curiosity-the curiosity to know about the invisible realms and God. Essentially they are the kind of people who are spiritually starved. They are the kind of people who want to connect to God, not for some materialistic benefits, but for fulfilling their desire for knowing their Unseen Father and to make their minds harmonized with Him as far as possible.
Such people, with this innate and unselfish desire to know God, are a negligible minority in this world bustling with people engaged in multifarious activities, including religious rituals and practices. The Urantia Book , though written for all mankind, is going to attract this minority individuals more than the others. The numbers of these minority individuals are going to increase as generations pass and there will come a day when such people would be the majority. That era would perhaps be the beginning of another epoch in human civilization!
Man has got the innate capacity to discern truth from untruth, provided that his acquired values, education, training and position do not cause him to be elevated to such a level of self importance that he is unable to utilize his God given capacity to separate truth from untruth, beauty from ugliness, good from bad and godly from ungodly.
Therefore, I feel it unwise to state my reasons for finding the Urantia Book true, or more precisely, believe what it says it is.
I can only say this much. I have found nothing in it that my innate mind discerns as untruth.
Moreover, it is the book that caused me to change my track from a life with more of materialistic concerns to a life with more of spiritual concerns.
It is the book that made me realize who is Jesus Christ and the essence of what he taught to the people of earth some 2000 years ago.
It is the book that caused me to believe in the existence of God without any doubt.
It is the book that caused me to learn to lead a life without anxieties and worries. It is the book that made me to understand other religions. It is the book that keep inspiring me ever since.
One more thing I can say here. Before the Urantia Book came to my notice, I had the opportunity to read most of the sacred books of all the major religions. Later on I got the opportunity to read many New Age literature and the so called 'channelled' books. All these books have many good things, but at the same time there are things that cause doubts and questions. There are things which do not stand validated in the truthful probe of the mind.
But the Urantia Book goes much beyond, at the current level of my understanding.
I have not yet found anything in it that my mind cannot accept ! And my mind tells me that such a great work is beyond the capacity of human beings to fabricate.
People and powers who are capable of twisting the truths in clever manner still exist and are doing their part and that will keep happening.
But my safeguard is my god-given power to distinguish truth from untruth.
And this power is not exclusive to me.
It is with every one !

Melchizedek: A Name Most Revered and Least Understood !

Modern historians believe that the three major world religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, had a common ancestry. These three religions are also called the Semitic religions because of their common Afro-Asian linguistic origins.

All these religions accept Abraham or Abram as the founder forefather of their religious and cultural origins. The religious holy books of these three religions, the Jewish Bible, the Christian Bible and the Quran have many things in common as far as some of the historical events and incidences are concerned.

In the Bible, both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament there are some revered references to a person named 'Melchizedek'.

He was stated as a person whom Abraham revered and perhaps adored. The inspired Bible authors even try to relate Jesus Christ as a successor of this very same Melchizedek.

However, a good majority of people from all these religions have pretty no idea about this personality. I being a Christian have noted this name only much later in my life.

I write this blog because for quite some time I have been receiving mental instructions, perhaps from my inner soul, for writing a blog on this great character of the Bible.
First let me reproduce below some of the verses from the Bible which refer to Melchizedek :

In Genesis 14:18 we read like this : And Melchizedek, the king of Salem and a priest of God Most High, brought Abram some bread and wine.

In Psalm 110:4 it is written: The LORD has taken an oath and will not break his vow: "You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek."

This Melchizedek was an extra-ordinary person capable of blessing Abraham on behalf of God !

The Bible says in Genesis 14:19 like this : Melchizedek blessed Abram with this blessing: "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth.

In the New Testament especially in the epistle of St.Paul to the Hebrews there are more about Melchizedek from which we can safely presume that apostle Paul knew much more about Melchizedek than anyone else. Let me quote :

In Hebrews 7:4 Paul says : Consider then how great this Melchizedek was. Even Abraham, the great patriarch of Israel, recognized this by giving him a tenth of what he had taken in battle.

There are nineteen or so references in the Bible where the name Melchizedek appears. Both the Old Testament and the New Testament give much reverence to this name.

Yet for centuries, we did not have an opportunity to know more about this great historical personality who lived on earth during the times of Abraham.

The three major Semitic religions, though different, have many things in common with the other major religions and cultures such as Confucianism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism and even the modern Sikhism.

I often used to wonder about the possible connections of ideas of all these religions.

Human historians and writers might have written thousands of volumes of commentaries and opinions on all these illuminating their readers with their hypotheses.

But there was no concrete and authentic repertory from which we could have possibly derived an answer to all these without ever making a disturbing crack in our logical mind.

But by our good fortune, the situation had changed ever since the Urantia Book got published way back in 1955.

Now we know the complete information about Melchizedek through the super humanly revealed knowledge that is contained in this great revelatory knowledge book of our times!

We have been also told about the work this Melchizedek had done on earth when he lived for nearly hundred years in a place known as Salem which is the present day Jerusalem under modern Israel.

He was responsible for initiating the pre-historic mankind to the real knowledge of God and real spiritual awakening from the tribal or animistic worship cultures that existed before. His disciples were the first ever spiritual missionaries to the world now referred in the Urantia Book as the 'Salem Missionaries' who paved the foundations of religious beliefs for our modern day religions of the Occident and the Orient.

According to the Urantia Book, the name Melchizedek is a common name used to denote a class or order of high ranking celestial personalities belonging to a Local Universe such as our own local universe called Nebadon. ( Nebadon is part of the Super Universe called Orvonton and the latter comprises most of what we astronomically distinguish as the Milky Way Galaxy. The Local Universes are not physical systems, but they are administrative divisions of the Super Universe, the division being done on the basis of the numbers of planets where intelligent mortal life is thriving. Our lonely planet of life in the Solar System, earth, is given the name Urantia and it is one among 3.8 million such planets containing intelligent mortal life under our local universe Nebadon whose Sovereign Lord is Michael of Nebadon who happened to live on earth as Jesus Christ some 2000 years ago.]

Melchizedeks keep doing invaluable service to the upkeep and celestial administration of the local universe and they are capable of doing various kinds of duties.

The Melchizedek who lived in the form a human being at the time of Abraham is identified as Machiventa Melchizedek and he is one of the Melchizedeks responsibly connected to the celestial administration of earth in some way.

Out of the 196 odd papers of the Urantia Book, some 30 are authored by the Melchizedek order of celestials.[Interested in seeing the names of the authors of the various papers of the Urantia Book? Click Here!]

The general nature of the work of the Melchizedeks is explained in Paper-35 of the Urantia Book which is authored by a celestial self identified as the 'Chief of Archangels'. [If you are interested you can read this paper online using this title link 'the Local Universe Sons of God']

Now about the detailed life of the very same Melchizedek who lived during the time of Abraham in the appearance and nature of a human being is elaborated in Paper-93 of the Urantia Book titled 'Machiventa Melchizedek' which is authored by another celestial belonging to the Melchizedek order.

It is indeed a great reading for those who are inclined to know more. It would give you the rare opportunity of knowing more about this biblical character who was not a human being, but lived among the humans appearing as a human being.

The great sage who taught Abraham and many others about God and initiated in them the quest for knowing God and living the manner in which God wanted them to live !

In short it is all about the founder of all religions of this world !

This celestial personality while living in Salem (now Jerusalem) some 3000 years before Jesus Christ in the form of a human being, taught the human tribes of that time about the true God, the Universal Father God. The effort culminated in to the formation of a group of enlightened disciples of this Melchizedek known as the Salem Missionaries who moved out in to all territories preaching about the nature of God.

Some of them reached India. Their efforts and the effects later on these teachings in India is further depicted in this Paper titled : 'The Melchizedek teachings of the orient'. This paper describes a commentary on Hinduism, Brahmanism, Buddhism and Jainism etc admixed with the teachings of the Salem missionaries in this part of Asia.

God Is No Respecter of Persons : A Universal Truth from the Bible and the Urantia Book !

Though I was born and brought up in a traditional middle class Christian family belonging to the Syrian Christian community concentrated in the Malabar Coast of India in the state of Kerala I never attempted studying the Bible very seriously for most period of my time.

I think I would not stand as an exception in this regard. This might generally be the case with almost every Christian in this world.

This does not mean that I have not read the Bible. I have read from it from here and there many times and have fairly a good idea (that is what I think) about its contents. But I know many in my community who know what is in the Bible much more than me as far as their abilities in memorizing the verses and their abilities in pin-pointing a verse quickly in the Bible is concerned.

I keep marvelling at such abilities of people.

Then there are another type of Bible readers. They keep reading without understanding what is written in it. In reality they are reading their religious holy book as a ritual, the way they have been traditionally instructed to do. This kind of reading is what most followers of other religions also do. They do the reading rituals, from their respective holy books, believing that such reading would invoke the gods and in turn they receive favors from the God or gods. For such readings, it is not even necessary that the person reading the book understand the meaning of the language. He or she should only know just to read the scripts ! The prayer- wheels are just an ingenious  version of this kind of reading !

Then there are religious scholars in all religions. They are called theologians. They are the ones who know the religious books and the meaning of the holy words and are authorized to interpret the meanings of the words and verses of the holy books. There are religious universities and educational institutions all around the world which offer regular and advanced courses in religious studies awarding various kinds of degree certificates.

But there is something common to all these kind of readers of religious books. Deep in their hearts they nurture a feeling that by doing all these they are going to be specially treated by others and by God Himself.

They do it for a special favor, a special status either from those around them or from God.

Getting the favor from those around might become a reality for many.

But what about getting a special favour from God ?

I used to think about this a lot. Then this Bible verse caught my attention :

The Bible stresses that God does not show any partiality or favoritism to any one because of his abilitiy, status, caste, religion, race, color, position, status, knowledge or wealth.

Though this is something well understandable, most people apparently have not fully comprehended the essence of this truth statement of the Bible.

My favorite book, the Urantia Book, uses this phrase liberallay at many places to stress the meaning more comprehensible to those who are interested.

Let me reproduce some of those paragraphs from the Urantia Book where this phrase is used:

"To every spirit being and to every mortal creature in every sphere and on every world of the universe of universes, the Universal Father reveals all of his gracious and divine self that can be discerned or comprehended by such spirit beings and by such mortal creatures. God is no respecter of persons, either spiritual or material. The divine presence which any child of the universe enjoys at any given moment is limited only by the capacity of such a creature to receive and to discern the spirit actualities of the supermaterial world." ( TUB 1:4.6 )

"The Fatherhood of  God and the brotherhood of man present the paradox of the part and the whole on the level of personality.  God loves each individual as an individual child in the heavenly family. Yet God thus loves every individual; God is no respecter of persons, and the universality of his love brings into being a relationship of the whole, the universal brotherhood." ( TUB 12:7.8 )

" Personality is unique, absolutely unique: It is unique in time and space; it is unique in eternity and on Paradise; it is unique when bestowed — there are no duplicates; it is unique during every moment of existence; it is unique in relation to God — he is no respecter of persons, but neither does he add them together, for they are nonaddable — they are associable but nontotalable." (TUB 112:0.12 )

"  One day while resting at lunch, about halfway to Tarentum, Ganid asked Jesus a direct question as to what he thought of India’s caste system. Said Jesus: “Though human beings differ in many ways, the one from another, before God and in the spiritual world all mortals stand on an equal footing. There are only two groups of mortals in the eyes of God : those who desire to do his will and those who do not. As the universe looks upon an inhabited world, it likewise discerns two great classes: those who know God and those who do not. Those who cannot know God are reckoned among the animals of any given realm. Mankind can appropriately be divided into many classes in accordance with differing qualifications, as they may be viewed physically, mentally, socially, vocationally, or morally, but as these different classes of mortals appear before the judgment bar of God , they stand on an equal footing; God is truly no respecter of persons. Although you cannot escape the recognition of differential human abilities and endowments in matters intellectual, social, and moral, you should make no such distinctions in the spiritual brotherhood of men when assembled for worship in the presence of God .” ( TUB 133:0.3 )

(Jesus said ) " My son, you do not comprehend the meaning of adversity or the mission of suffering. Have you not read that masterpiece of Semitic literature — the Scripture story of the afflictions of Job? Do you not recall how this wonderful parable begins with the recital of the material prosperity of the Lord’s servant? You well remember that Job was blessed with children, wealth, dignity, position, health, and everything else which men value in this temporal life. According to the time-honored teachings of the children of Abraham such material prosperity was all-sufficient evidence of divine favor. But such material possessions and such temporal prosperity do not indicate God’s favor. My Father in heaven loves the poor just as much as the rich; he is no respecter of persons." ( TUB 148:6.2 )

(Jesus said) " You have come out from among those of your fellows who choose to remain satisfied with a religion of mind, who crave security and prefer conformity. You have elected to exchange your feelings of authoritative certainty for the assurances of the spirit of adventurous and progressive faith. You have dared to protest against the grueling bondage of institutional religion and to reject the authority of the traditions of record which are now regarded as the word of God. Our Father did indeed speak through Moses, Elijah, Isaiah, Amos, and Hosea, but he did not cease to minister words of truth to the world when these prophets of old made an end of their utterances. My Father (God) is no respecter of races or generations in that the word of truth is vouchsafed one age and withheld from another. Commit not the folly of calling that divine which is wholly human, and fail not to discern the words of truth which come not through the traditional oracles of supposed inspiration. (TUB 155:6.2 )

" In many ways these gentile believers appreciated Jesus’ teachings more fully than the Jews. Many of these Greek-speaking Syrophoenicians came to know not only that Jesus was like God but also that God was like Jesus. These so-called heathen achieved a good understanding of the Master’s teachings about the uniformity of the laws of this world and the entire universe. They grasped the teaching that God is no respecter of persons, races, or nations; that there is no favoritism with the Universal Father; that the universe is wholly and ever law-abiding and unfailingly dependable. These gentiles were not afraid of Jesus; they dared to accept his message. All down through the ages men have not been unable to comprehend Jesus; they have been afraid to." (TUB 156:2.4 )

" How cruel and unreasoning to compel innocent children to suffer for the sins of their progenitors, misdeeds of which they are wholly ignorant, and for which they could in no way be responsible! And to do such wicked deeds in the name of one who taught his disciples to love even their enemies! It has become necessary, in this recital of the life of Jesus, to portray the manner in which certain of his fellow Jews rejected him and conspired to bring about his ignominious death; but we would warn all who read this narrative that the presentation of such a historical recital in no way justifies the unjust hatred, nor condones the unfair attitude of mind, which so many professed Christians have maintained toward individual Jews for many centuries. Kingdom believers, those who follow the teachings of Jesus, must cease to mistreat the individual Jew as one who is guilty of the rejection and crucifixion of Jesus. The Father and his Creator Son have never ceased to love the Jews. God is no respecter of persons, and salvation is for the Jew as well as for the gentile." (TUB 175:2.3 )

(Jesus said to them) " Levi, I know much about your anxieties, sacrifices, and labors to keep the treasury replenished which your brethren do not know, and I am rejoiced that, though he who carried the bag is absent, the publican ambassador is here at my farewell gathering with the messengers of the kingdom. I pray that you may discern the meaning of my teaching with the eyes of the spirit. And when the new teacher comes into your heart, follow on as he will lead you and let your brethren see — even all the world — what the Father can do for a hated tax-gatherer who dared to follow the Son of Man and to believe the gospel of the kingdom. Even from the first, Levi, I loved you as I did these other Galileans. Knowing then so well that neither the Father nor the Son has respect of persons, see to it that you make no such distinctions among those who become believers in the gospel through your ministry. And so, Matthew, dedicate your whole future life service to showing all men that God is no respecter of persons; that, in the sight of God and in the fellowship of the kingdom, all men are equal, all believers are the sons of God.” ( TUB 181:2.14 )

" Jesus then turned toward Peter and asked, “Peter, do you love me?” Peter answered, “Lord, you know I love you with all my soul.” Then said Jesus: “If you love me, Peter, feed my lambs. Do not neglect to minister to the weak, the poor, and the young. Preach the gospel without fear or favor; remember always that God is no respecter of persons. Serve your fellow men even as I have served you; forgive your fellow mortals even as I have forgiven you. Let experience teach you the value of meditation and the power of intelligent reflection.( TUB 192:2.2 )

How beautifully this universal truth is explained here.

What is needed is the heart and soul to understand and the will to live a life with an understanding of such universal truths !

READ THIS ONLY IF YOU HAVE A SPIRITUAL CURIOSITY !

If you have chosen to read on you are a spiritually curious personality. Religious inquisitiveness comes from the flicker of spirituality that we all have in our minds.

So I wish all success in your endeavour to seek and find truths about true spirituality and true religious faith. May the Almighty God, the First Source and Centre of all Powers in the whole of the Universe who is Our Divine Father bless you abundantly in your efforts to truely seek and love Him thereby move to perfection from the bonds of imperfection in your first level of existence as a living being blessed with a unique personality gifted by the same Divine Father.

As we are all children of this same Divine Father God, we are all from the same ancestry. Since we all have unique personalities we are all different, but our roots are the same!

We all have a God consciousness which is a natural inbuilt mechanism. Just as we have natural instinct to seek our biological father, we do have this instinct to seek our spiritual (by the term spiritual I mean something that is beyond our present sensory levels) father too. Again the degree of the strength of these instincts vary from person to person.

In India, most of the people recognize the existence of a guiding force resident on each individual which guides a person to recognize good from evil.

We Indians frequently refer this as our Inner Voice or 'Anter Atman'( meaning Inner Soul) or Mana Sakshi (meaning witness of the mind). So a person tuned to the guidance of his inner soul knows what is right and what is wrong. This concept is deep rooted in the Indian people with their beliefs predominantly originating from Hinduism.

The Urantia Book has re-inforced the truthfulness of this in a much more assertive and detailed manner. The Urantia Book calls it the Mystery Monitor originating directly from the Universal Father God and tells us that it is a separate entity that is now resident in the minds of all of us on earth and it is also known as our Thought Adjuster.

The Urantia Book treatise on the origin, purpose and work of Thought Adjuster is a vast and highly inspiring source of knowledge. I recommend that you read the Paper dealing with this topic in the Urantia Book itself.

The purpose of this blog is different. For us humans, religion is some thing which takes us to an almost illogical level of consciousness.

We have a religion. We are either a Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Parsi, Jain, Buddhist, Jew or something of that kind. We follow that religion in our efforts to seek God and get blessings from our God. Culture, faith, creeds, customs, history, superstitions and philosophy are all mixed up in our religion and faiths.

If you listen to your inner voice, you can very well separate good and bad from your religion. Unfortunately we normally do not venture into that.

We are too obsessive about our religious faiths and suspicious of all other faiths. Normally we do not even bother to find the essence of our own faith and that of the other faiths is beyond our reach. At least that is the way we treat it.

Let me tell you this. I was born as an Indian Christian. Again, there are large numbers of christian denominations and I being a Christian do not have much idea about all these.

Our religious knowledge is limited and greatly constrained. It is mostly true with my brothers and sisters who are Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and the like.

We are ignorant about our religions. Our own as well as those others around us. And that leads to suspicion and suspicion leads to hatred and mutual distrust. Often this kind of a situation is exploited by vested interests for perpetuating their own agendas.

I have almost reproduced these words from a page of my Urantia India website where I have included brief details and concepts of all the major religions of our world.

In case you feel like reading those click here to visit that page.
