Food and Knowledge Without the Capacity to Digest Are Baneful!

We are now going through a time period where everything is in plenty for those who do not need those in plenty. 

It is a peculiar situation. Those who need and desire do not have or get what they desire or need while those who do not need or desire are forced with abundance.

When you analyse the situation carefully and if you have the desired levels of mind capacity to analyze the situation it would be easy to see that both kinds of people, the haves and the halve-nots, live in some kind of misery, though for different reasons.

To put forward my point further, I would like to give you two widely unconnected examples. One is knowledge and the other is food.

Human beings are a unique species of animals which aspire for knowledge and food with more or less equal degree of desire, though not necessarily simultaneously. Animals and humans do have a few other desires which develop in them at various times and in varying intensities and I am not going to those details here.

Food, security, pleasure, and leisure provide the foundation for the development of culture and the spread of knowledge. The effort to execute knowledge results in wisdom, and when a culture has learned how to profit and improve by experience, civilization has really arrived. Food, security, and material comfort still dominate society, but many forward-looking individuals are hungering for knowledge and thirsting for wisdom. Every child is provided an opportunity to learn by doing; education is the watchword of these ages.

Desire for food is the most predominant common factor for both humans and animals. Perhaps this desire is the one that makes humans at equitable position with their animal cousins. On the other hand animals do not show the desire for knowledge which the humans have, next only to their desire for food.

Desire for food for both animals and humans comes from their intrinsic biological design. While animals maintain the desire for food more or less as originally in built, humans have continuously evolved their need for food with creativity, curiosity and other mind capacities including their desire for knowledge.

Humans, therefore, have the most widespread food habits. They have significan likes and dislikes for their evolutionary food habits and food tastes. Discovery of fire and invention of cooking by humans have made dramatic changes in human food habits, likes and dislikes. 

Though knowledge is important, for many humans, food is one of the most determining factor that make them love their living on earth. Had they been provided with a physical body that digested all food always, they would have prefered to live all the time relishing their tasty foods! Unfortunately, the human body system does not allow such a thing. Food, however tasty or enjoyable, cannot be eaten beyond certain limits at a time. They need to give some time for rest, digestion and waste defecation.

Most humans become perplexed, troubled and dull when their digestive capacities are impared by any means. A man or woman may have all the food they want, but yet they may have such body defects that prevent them from digesting the food. They are are practically very very unlucky and their lives would be actually miserable inspite of the plentiful in their possession!

Knowledge too adds up to the problems of humans when there is a knowledge explosion. When humans do not have the proper digestive capacity to assimilate knowledge for good, they land into miseries induced by the limitless raw knowledge that flooded their brains with lesser capacity to process those. Too much of knowledge about food also become cause for their miseries.

Even instant foods that multinational companies make and market such as the Maggi noodles of Nestle could bring about much distress due to unbridled explosion of raw knowledge. Not only the food ingrediants for tastemaking better known by the names of their makers such as the ajinomoto, but even the atoms and molecules of the food could become problems of human indecisiveness and food fear! Unprocessed knowledge about medicines and diseases make some humans perpetually sick with a kind of uncurable disease called the hypochondriasis! 

In a similar way spiritual knowledge in a little abundance can cause cow and pig allergies and hate disorders in some people. Advanced Japanese military officers of world war-2 had been reliably reported to practice cannibalism (eating human flesh) as they gained some kind of knowledge that misguided them to believe that the practice would make them super men! With that kind of knowledge in their incompetent brains, they killed and ate several Indian prisoners of war only to become condemned prisoners to be hanged or disgraced by others, later!

The terrible holocaust of the Jews initiated by Adolf Hitler and many similar incidents of modern history happened because of the inadequate knowledge digestive powers of certain humans. What these individuals did due to their defective knowledge processing brains caused much miseries to all including they themselves!

So my dear reader, food is good only when it could be properly digested. Otherwise it acts like poison. Knowledge too is good when it could be cooked, processed and properly digested. Other wise it would poison the most vital part of the body, the brain. 

Once the brain gets poisoned, the whole mind and body starts degrading causing much miseries. When you eat and drink deliciously too much, the bad effects starts appearing later. Same is the case with the effects of badly processed information and knowledge.

Unfortunately, no man or woman has perfect digestive capacities for food and knowledge. Every human has limitation and that too in varying degrees! 

To overcome this difficulty, it is essential that individuals learn the art of screening food and information. Better not to dwell deep in to both unless you have definite capacity for doing the same.

Due to the peculiar imbalaces of our world, you might be living in a situation of abundance of food and knowledge. Due to the same imbalances of human progress, you might also be handicapped to digest the whole of that abundance that is in your possession. Why do you want to make that abundance to poison you? It could be perhaps better if you try to share your abundance with those who are really in need of some part of your abundance instead of trying to force digest all by yourself. 

Why do you want to have a baneful (harmful) life due to indigestive abundance? 

Abundance of food and of course, those raw knowledge!

ഒരു കോഴയും ഇല്ലാത്ത ഒരു കോഴ പുരാണം!

ഇന്ന് രാവിലെ ഒരു ചായ കുടി സദസ്സിലെ വാഗ്വിലാസങ്ങള്‍ കേള്‍ക്കാന്‍ ഇടയായി. ഉത്തര ഭാരതത്തിലെ ഒരു സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ സ്ഥാപനത്തിലെ മദ്ധ്യ വയസ്കരായ മദ്ധ്യവര്‍ത്തി ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ അധികാരത്തിനായി കുറുക്കു വഴികള്‍ തേടിനടക്കുന്ന ഇന്ത്യാ മഹാരാജ്യത്തെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ നേതാക്കളെ കുറിച്ച് രൂപപ്പെടുത്തിയെടുത്ത അഭിപ്രായങ്ങളില്‍ ചിലതൊക്കെ അപ്പോള്‍ വെളിയില്‍ വന്നു തുടങ്ങി.

കുടിക്കുന്നത് ചായ ആയതുകൊണ്ടും പരിസരം ഓഫീസ് ആയതിനാലും സംഭാഷണങ്ങള്‍ അതിരു കടന്നതായിരുന്നില്ല.

പത്തുപതിനഞ്ചു മിനിറ്റ് നേരത്തെ അവരുടെ ഇളം ചൂട് ചര്‍ച്ച അവസാനിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ അതില്‍ ഒരു ഇളം തലമുറ ദേഹം ഒരു പരമ സത്യം അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. ഹിന്ദിയില്‍ പറഞ്ഞ ആ വാചകങ്ങള്‍ മലയാളത്തില്‍ ആയാല്‍ ആ പറഞ്ഞത് ഇങ്ങനെ: 

"കാശുണ്ടാക്കാനല്ലേ പിന്നെ ഇവന്മാര്‍ വല്ലോം കാശും കളഞ്ഞു ഈ പണിക്കിറങ്ങുമോ? സ്വന്തം കീശ വീര്‍പ്പിക്കാനോ സ്വന്തം കാര്യ സാദ്ധ്യത്തിനോ അല്ലാതെ  നാടിനേം നാട്ടാരേം  നന്നാക്കാന്‍ മാത്രം ആരും ഇപ്പോള്‍ രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കളി നടത്തുന്നില്ല. ഇച്ചിരെ നാക്കും ഇമ്മിണി തൊലിക്കട്ടീം ഉള്ള ആര്‍ക്കും പറ്റിയ ബെസ്റ്റ്‌ തൊഴില്‍ ഇത് തന്നെ. നമുക്കൊക്കെ ഇതിച്ചിരെ കുറവായത് കൊണ്ട് ആ പണിക്ക് പോയില്ല  എന്നതല്ലേ വാസ്തവം? ബിസിനസ്സ് കാര്‍ക്ക് കാശുണ്ടാക്കാന്‍ ഉള്ള സൗകര്യം ചെയ്തു കൊടുത്തിട്ട് അതിന്റെ നല്ല പങ്കു വീതം ചോദിച്ചു വാങ്ങിയാല്‍ അതിലെന്താ തെറ്റ്?" 

ഇന്ത്യയിലെ വിവരദോഷികളും പട്ടിണി പാവങ്ങളും അല്ലാത്ത മനുഷ്യരൊക്കെ ഏതാണ്ട് ഇതുപോലെയൊക്കെ കാര്യങ്ങളെ അപഗ്രഥിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ട് ആരിനി രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തില്‍ വന്നാലും എപ്പോഴും ഒരു കച്ചവട കണ്ണ് അതില്‍ ഇല്ലാതെ ഇരിക്കാന്‍ വഴിയൊന്നുമില്ലെന്നും അവര്‍ക്ക് മനസ്സിലായിരിക്കുന്നു.

"ദീപ സ്തംഭം മഹാശ്ചര്യം, നമുക്കും കിട്ടണം പണം!" അത് പറഞ്ഞത് പണ്ട് കുഞ്ചന്‍ നമ്പ്യാര്‍ എന്ന് പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഭരണചക്രം തിരിക്കുന്നവരും തിരിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൂടെ നടക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്കും പണവും പിണവും അങ്ങനെ പലതും വേണം! കുഞ്ചന്‍ നമ്പ്യാരെ പോലെ അത് പറയേണ്ടിടത്ത് പറയാന്‍ അവര്‍ക്ക് കോഴ ഒന്നും തന്നെ ഇല്ല. സാദാ പൊതു ജനത്തെ ഇതൊക്കെ ഒളിക്കാന്‍ നോക്കുമ്പോള്‍ പോലും!

കടല്‍ വെള്ളം വെയിലത്തുണക്കി കിലോയ്ക്ക് പത്തു പൈസക്ക് വിറ്റാല്‍ ആര്‍ക്കെന്തു ഗുണം? അത് പത്തോ പന്ത്രണ്ടോ രൂപയ്ക്ക് വില്‍ക്കാന്‍ നിയമം ഉണ്ടാക്കി കൊടുത്താല്‍ കിട്ടുന്ന ലാഭത്തിന്റെ പകുതിയെങ്കിലും ആ ലാഭം ഉണ്ടാക്കാന്‍ സഹായിച്ച നിയമ ഉപജ്ഞാതാവിനും പാലകര്‍ക്കും കൊടുക്കുന്നതില്‍ എന്താ തെറ്റ്? ഒരു തെറ്റുമില്ല. അതാണ്‌ ശരി! ഉപ്പെന്ന പ്രകൃതി വിഭവം അങ്ങനെ ചക്കാത്തിനു കൂട്ടാമെന്ന് പണ്ടത്തെ ആ ഗാന്ധി മാത്രമേ പറയൂ. അദ്ദേഹോം അങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞത് അന്നത്തെ ഒരു കാര്യം സാധിക്കാന്‍ സാദാ ജനത്തെ ഒന്ന് ഇളക്കി വിടാന്‍ വേണ്ടി അല്ലായിരുന്നു  എന്ന് പറയാന്‍ പറ്റുമോ? 

ഉപ്പ് പോലെയോ അതില്‍ കൂടുതലായോ പല സാദാ ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ ദേഹാസ്വാസ്ഥ്യം മാറ്റാന്‍ പണ്ട് സായിപ്പ് കാണിച്ചു കൊടുത്ത ഒരു രഹസ്യമാണ് ഇപ്പോള്‍ വിദേശ മദ്യം എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഇന്ത്യന്‍ നിര്‍മിത കളര്‍ ചാരായം. നിര്‍മാണ ചെലവ് കാല്‍ ഗ്ലാസിനു വെറും അഞ്ചു രൂപ. ഉപ്പ് പോലെ അതങ്ങനെ അഞ്ചു രൂപയ്ക്ക് സാദാ ജനത്തിനു കൊടുത്താല്‍ ആര്‍ക്കെന്തു ഗുണം? അത് കൊണ്ട് അമ്പതു രൂപയ്ക്ക് വില്‍ക്കാനുള്ള വില്‍ക്കാനുള്ള നിയമങ്ങളൊക്കെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി കൊടുത്ത് ഫിഫ്ടി ഫിഫ്ടി കാലാ കാലങ്ങളായി കൈപറ്റി കൊണ്ടിരുന്നപ്പോള്‍ അത് കിട്ടാതെ പോയ ചിലര്‍ക്ക് കണ്ണുകടി. ആ കണ്ണ് കടി അങ്ങ് കേരളത്തില്‍ കടി പിടി ആയപ്പോള്‍ മാറി മറിയുന്ന കോഴപ്പണ കണക്കുകള്‍ വെളിയില്‍ വന്നു എന്ന് മാത്രം. അത് കേട്ട് സാദാ ജനം അല്‍പ സ്വല്പം ഞെട്ടിയെങ്കിലും ഇപ്പോള്‍ ആ ഞെട്ടല്‍ മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ജനം വാങ്ങിയവരുടെയും കൊടുത്തവരുടെയും കൂടെ ഉറച്ചു നില്‍ക്കുന്നു എന്ന്  കണ്ടപ്പോള്‍ കോഴ ഒരു കോഴയും ഇല്ലാത്തതായി എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ അതില്‍ തെറ്റുണ്ടോ? 

ഒരു പൈസ പോലും ചെലവില്ലാത്ത തലവേദന ഗുളിക രണ്ടു പൈസക്ക് കമ്പനികള്‍ വിറ്റു കൊണ്ടിരുന്നപ്പോള്‍ ജനത്തിനു ഏതാണ്ട് ഒരു ഇതില്ലായിരുന്നു. അത് മനസ്സിലാക്കിയ ജന പ്രതിനിധികള്‍ വിലയില്ലാത്ത ഗുളികകള്‍ വിലയുള്ളതാക്കി കൊടുത്തപ്പോള്‍ നേട്ടം നേടിയ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ മരുന്ന് കമ്പനികളെ ലോകം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാന്‍ മാത്രമല്ല ആദരിക്കാനും തുടങ്ങി. ആ നേട്ടത്തിന്റെ ചില്ലറ അല്ലാത്ത പങ്കു ഒരു കോഴയും കൂടാതെ പറ്റിയാല്‍ അതിലെന്നാ ഇത്ര കുഴപ്പം? 

അങ്ങ് കൊച്ചു കേരളത്തില്‍ ഒരു വിവരദോഷി ബിസിനസ്സ് കാരന്‍ കൊടുക്കെണ്ടടത്തൊക്കെ കൊടുക്കാതെ ചുളുവില്‍ ഒരു വിമാനത്താവളം പണിയാന്‍ പോയപ്പോള്‍ എന്ത് പറ്റി എന്ന് കണ്ടറിഞ്ഞ ജനത്തിനു ഇപ്പോള്‍ വളരെ ആശ്വാസം തോന്നിയിരിക്കുന്നു. വീതം കിട്ടാന്‍ അവകാശ മുള്ള ആരെയും അങ്ങനെ അവഗണിക്കരുത്  എന്ന് ഏതു കോത്താഴത്തുകാരനാണ് അറിയാന്‍ മേലാത്തത്? ഇത് അമേരിക്കയല്ല കൂവേ, ഇന്ത്യാ  മഹാരാജ്യം എന്ന ഗണതന്ത്ര രാജ്യമാണ്. 

കോഴ ആരുടേയും കുത്തകയല്ല എന്ന് സാരം! രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാര്‍ മാത്രമല്ല ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ മനുഷ്യരായിട്ടുള്ളത്. ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരും പത്രക്കാരും എഴുത്തുകാരും സമാജ സേവകരും എന്ന് വേണ്ട എല്ലാവരും മനുഷ്യര്‍ തന്നെ. പണം ആര്‍ക്കും പുളിക്കത്തില്ല. കിട്ടാത്തവര്‍ക്ക് കിട്ടാത്തപ്പോള്‍ ചിലപ്പോള്‍ പുളിച്ചേക്കാം, അത്രമാത്രം! ദാ, അവന്‍ കോഴ വാങ്ങി തിന്നുന്നു എന്നു വിളിച്ചു കൂവിയാല്‍ അതിന്റെ അര്‍ഥം അവന്‍ തിന്നുന്നു എന്ന് മാത്രം കരുതിയാല്‍ ശരിയല്ല. എനിക്ക് കിട്ടിയില്ലേ എന്ന് കൂടി ആ കൂവലില്‍ അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു. കൂവുന്നവര്‍ക്കെല്ലാം കിട്ടാല്‍ സാധ്യത എന്ന സ്ഥിതി ആയപ്പോള്‍ കൂവുന്നവരുടെ എണ്ണം പണ്ടത്തേതിലും കൂടികൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു മാത്രം. 

കോണ്ട്രാക്ടര്‍ എന്ന ഒരു കൂട്ടം മനുഷ്യരുണ്ട്. പണി മൊത്തത്തില്‍ എടുത്തു ചെയ്തു കൊടുക്കുന്നവര്‍. എത്ര വിഷമം പിടിച്ച പണിയും ഇക്കൂട്ടര്‍ ഏറ്റെടുക്കാന്‍ തയ്യാര്‍. ഒത്തിരി ഓടി നടക്കണം പണി പറ്റിച്ചു എടുക്കാന്‍. പക്ഷേ, ഉറക്കം കളഞ്ഞു ഓടിയാല്‍ മാത്രം പോര, പണി കൊടുക്കുന്നവരെ കാണേണ്ട പോലെ കാണാനും അറിയണം. അങ്ങനെ ആയാല്‍ പണി കൊടുക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യര്‍ ദൈവങ്ങളെ പോലെ പ്രസാദിക്കും. അങ്ങനെ പ്രസാദിച്ചാല്‍ പണി കിട്ടുമെന്ന് മാത്രമല്ല, ഒരുകോടി യുടെ പണി പത്തു കോടിക്ക് കിട്ടാം. ഒമ്പത് കോടി ലാഭം. അതില്‍ എട്ടുകോടി വീതിച്ചു കൊടുത്താല്‍ എല്ലാവരും ഹാപ്പി. അങ്ങനെ ആയാല്‍ പണം നാട്ടില്‍ ഒഴുകും. അത് തെറ്റാണോ? 

ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ പണം അങ്ങനെ ഒഴുകുന്നു. പണ്ട് ചിലടത്തു പാലും തേനും ഒക്കെ ഒഴുകിയിരുന്നത്‌ പോലെ. അങ്ങനെ പണം വന്നു അനുഗ്രഹീതര്‍ ആകുന്നവരുടെ എണ്ണം നാള്‍ക്കു നാള്‍ വര്‍ദ്ധിച്ചു വരുന്നു. വീടും കൂടും ഇല്ലെങ്കില്‍ പോലും പണത്തിന്റെ വീതം എല്ലാവര്ക്കും കിട്ടുന്നു. പട്ടിണി അങ്ങ് പാട്ടുരായിക്കല്‍ മാത്രം. അതായത് പണമുള്ളവര്‍ പോകാന്‍ മടിക്കുന്ന ഓണം കേറാ മൂലകളില്‍ മാത്രം. ആ വിവര ദോഷികള്‍ അവിടെ കിടക്കുന്നത് കൊണ്ടാണ് ഇന്ത്യയെ സായിപ്പന്മാര്‍ ബഹുമാനിക്കാത്തത്. അല്ലായിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഇന്ത്യ എന്നേ ഈ സായിപ്പന്മാരെ ഒക്കെ ഒരു പാഠം പഠിപ്പിച്ചേനെ!

കോഴയെ  അഴിമതിയെന്നും പറയും. കോഴ അഴിയെണ്ണാന്‍ മതിയായ ഒന്നായത് മൂലമാണോ എന്നറിയില്ല. എന്നാല്‍ അതൊക്കെ പണ്ടത്തെ ഒന്നും രണ്ടും കോഴ വാങ്ങിയിരുന്ന കാലത്തെ കഥ. ഇന്നിപ്പോള്‍ കോടിക്കോടികളുടെ കോഴ ആയപ്പോള്‍ അഴിയൊന്നും എണ്ണാന്‍ പോകേണ്ട കാര്യം ഇല്ലാതെ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.

കോഴയുടെ അര്‍ത്ഥ ശാസ്ത്രം മനസ്സിലാക്കിയ ചില ധന മന്ത്രിമാര്‍ കോഴയില്‍ ഒരു കുഴപ്പവും ഇല്ലെന്നു ഒരു കോഴയും ഇല്ലാതെ സധൈര്യം പറയുന്നത് ഇതൊക്കെ കൊണ്ടാണെന്ന് വിവരമുള്ള സാദാ ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക്‌ മനസ്സിലായി കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. 

അതുകൊണ്ട് കോഴ പുരാണം വെറും ബോറായി തുടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു. നിര്‍ത്താം, നമുക്കീ പുരാണം പറച്ചില്‍ നിര്‍ത്താം. നമുക്കൂടെ കോഴ കിട്ടാന്‍ എന്താ വഴിയെന്ന് ചിന്തിച്ചു തുടങ്ങാം. എന്തിനും എവിടെയും കോഴ കിട്ടാന്‍ സാധ്യത തെളിഞ്ഞു വരുന്ന ഇക്കാലത്ത് അതിനെന്താ ഇത്ര പ്രയാസം? 

പണ്ട് കോഴ സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ വക സംരംഭങ്ങളുടെയും ലാവണങ്ങളുടെയും കുത്തക ആയിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഇന്നത്‌ മാറികൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. സ്വകാര്യ സംരംഭങ്ങളും സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളും കോഴ എന്ന കാശുണ്ടാക്കല്‍ പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തെ ഏറ്റെടുത്തു കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രികളും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സംരംഭങ്ങളും മറ്റും കോഴയെ സ്വാംശീകരിച്ച് വിപുലപ്പെടുത്തികൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. 

കോഴ വിവിധ മേഖലകളില്‍ പടര്‍ന്നു കയറി പന്തലിച്ചു വളരുന്നു. എല്ലാവര്ക്കും പ്രയോജനം ചെയ്തു കൊണ്ട്. കോഴയെ കൊണ്ട് എങ്ങനെ സ്വന്തം തടി വീര്‍പ്പിക്കാം എന്ന് ബുദ്ധിയുള്ളവര്‍ ആലോചിച്ചു കണ്ടു പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

കോഴ ഒരു കൊടുക്കല്‍ വാങ്ങല്‍ സമ്പ്രദായം മാത്രമാണ്. കൊടുക്കുന്നത് കുറവും വാങ്ങുന്നത് കൂടുതലും ആയാല്‍ ലാഭം മാത്രം. എല്ലാ ബിസിനെസ്സിലുംഎന്നതുപോലെ കോഴയിലും പറ്റിപ്പ് പറ്റി പോയെന്നിരിക്കും. അതില്‍ ദു:ഖികേണ്ട ഒരു കാര്യവുമില്ല തന്നെ. 

അതാണതിന്റെ ഒരു കിടപ്പ് വശം. 

മനസ്സിലായോ ഒരു കോഴയുമില്ലാതെ പറഞ്ഞ ഈ കോഴ പുരാണം?

The following passage is directly quoted from Paper-166  of the Urantia Book under Part-IV, which deals with life and teachings of Jesus Christ on earth. The authors of this part of the book are stated as the Midwayer Commission, comprising of a divinely authorized group of invisible immortal beings whom the various other invisible authors of the book introduce to us as the midwayers of earth. Midwayers are a group of beings who exist in a realm of existence above human beings but below various other orders of higher order immortal beings.Midwayers are capable of doing things that humans do in the material realm and much more. As they have been in existence on earth for thousands of years, they are said to have direct knowledge about most of the history of earth and its civilizational progress. They understand the languages and the knowledge that humans gained so far and are direct watchers of human progress on earth. They assist superior divine beings in accordance with the universal administrative plans of God. For more details about them read this blog. They got the divine approval to re-state the life and teachings of Jesus which got included as part-4 of the Urantia Book as the divine administration of the universe felt the gross errors that crept in the various writings that the human authors of the past had created, including the four gospels included in the New Testament Bible of the Christians. Incidentally, Part-4 of the Urantia Book is the most appealing and exhaustive literary work that is so meticulous and matter of fact in its details in describing the life and teachings of Jesus on earth. For any unbiased reader, Part-4 provides logical answers to many unanswered questions that they likely had in their minds.

Human beings are perplexed by natural calamities, accidents, war, acts of terrorism, political mismanagement, diseases, etc which often affect thousands of innorcents severely and fatally while several others find miraculous escapes. Some of the intellectuals keep thinking to find the logic behind it. The debate then proceeds further to the irrationality of believing in God or even the rationality of it. A friend of mine sends me this link where this question is inconclusively dealt by Daniel Burke, CNN Religion editor, after he escaped quite miraculously from the Amtrak train 188 crash in the USA.

Unfortunately, this is difficult for us to understand when we visualize the universe organization purely from our materialistic view point. But divine plans transcend materialistic realms, not just as a concept, but as a reality. That is what the Urantia Book reveals with its seamless effort of unifying all those religious beliefs sans their erroneous teachings deviating from facts that are not easy for humans to prove with their limited comprehension.

The following Urantia Book narration reproduces the efforts made by Jesus Christ to remove certain misunderstandings that the common folks of his time, like his immediate followers, nurtured in their minds. Notice carefully the answer that Jesus provided  with regard to the common accidents and natural disasters that keep happening on earth ( this is partly given in the Bible too):

While most Palestinians ate only two meals a day, it was the custom of Jesus and the apostles, when on a journey, to pause at midday for rest and refreshment. 

And it was at such a noontide stop on the way to Philadelphia that Thomas (one disciple of Jesus) asked Jesus: 

“Master, from hearing your remarks as we journeyed this morning, I would like to inquire whether spiritual beings are concerned in the production of strange and extraordinary events in the material world and, further, to ask whether the angels and other spirit beings are able to prevent accidents.”

In answer to Thomas’s inquiry, Jesus said:

“Have I been so long with you, and yet you continue to ask me such questions? Have you failed to observe how the Son of Man (the phrase Jesus often used to address himself) lives as one with you and consistently refuses to employ the forces of heaven for his personal sustenance? Do we not all live by the same means whereby all men exist? Do you see the power of the spiritual world manifested in the material life of this world, save for the revelation of the Father and the sometime healing of his afflicted children?

“All too long have your fathers believed that prosperity was the token of divine approval; that adversity was the proof of God’s displeasure. I declare that such beliefs are superstitions. Do you not observe that far greater numbers of the poor joyfully receive the gospel and immediately enter the kingdom? If riches evidence divine favor, why do the rich so many times refuse to believe this good news from heaven?

 “The Father (God) causes his rain to fall on the just and the unjust; the sun likewise shines on the righteous and the unrighteous. You know about those Galileans whose blood Pilate mingled with the sacrifices, but I tell you these Galileans were not in any manner sinners above all their fellows just because this happened to them. You also know about the eighteen men upon whom the tower of Siloam fell, killing them. Think not that these men who were thus destroyed were offenders above all their brethren in Jerusalem. These folks were simply innocent victims of one of the accidents of time.

 “There are three groups of events which may occur in your lives:

“1. You may share in those normal happenings which are a part of the life you and your fellows live on the face of the earth.

“2. You may chance to fall victim to one of the accidents of nature, one of the mischances of men, knowing full well that such occurrences are in no way prearranged or otherwise produced by the spiritual forces of the realm.

“3. You may reap the harvest of your direct efforts to comply with the natural laws governing the world.

 “There was a certain man who planted a fig tree in his yard, and when he had many times sought fruit thereon and found none, he called the vinedressers before him and said: `Here have I come these three seasons looking for fruit on this fig tree and have found none. Cut down this barren tree; why should it encumber the ground?’ But the head gardener answered his master: `Let it alone for one more year so that I may dig around it and put on fertilizer, and then, next year, if it bears no fruit, it shall be cut down.’ And when they had thus complied with the laws of fruitfulness, since the tree was living and good, they were rewarded with an abundant yield.

 “In the matter of sickness and health, you should know that these bodily states are the result of material causes; health is not the smile of heaven, neither is affliction the frown of God.

“The Father’s human children have equal capacity for the reception of material blessings; therefore does he bestow things physical upon the children of men without discrimination. When it comes to the bestowal of spiritual gifts, the Father is limited by man’s capacity for receiving these divine endowments. Although the Father is no respecter of persons, in the bestowal of spiritual gifts he is limited by man’s faith and by his willingness always to abide by the Father’s will.”

As they journeyed on toward Philadelphia, Jesus continued to teach them and to answer their questions having to do with accidents, sickness, and miracles, but they were not able fully to comprehend this instruction. 

One hour of teaching will not wholly change the beliefs of a lifetime, and so Jesus found it necessary to reiterate his message, to tell again and again that which he wished them to understand; and even then they failed to grasp the meaning of his earth mission until after his death and resurrection.

The above passage may not satisfy most human beings. Even the disciples of Jesus could not understand what Jesus explained. The situation has not changed much with regard to humans. It is important to understand the universal plan of progress of intelligent life comprising of both material and spiritual realms.
