If you look closely at modern civilization, an odd pattern emerges.
Humanity has made breathtaking leaps in basic spiritual awareness and abstract knowledge. Yet, when it comes to industrial ethics, healthcare systems, and harmonious global relations, we constantly seem to hit a wall. Conflict, commercial exploitation, and systemic flaws plague these fields.
According to The Urantia Book, this is no coincidence. It traces back roughly 300,000 years to a dramatic turning point in Earth’s hidden history: the collapse of the planet’s first global administration headed by an invisible, divinely deputed high ranking spirit being and his innumerable Spirit aids and a special group of 100 beings who were visible to the evolutionary human tribals of that period. The invisible ruler is given the name Caligastia and his visible human like beings are called the Corporeal Staff of One Hundred or simply the Caligastia One Hundred.
The Earth’s First World Government
Around 500,000 years ago, a high celestial being named Caligastia arrived as Earth’s first Planetary Prince. To interact directly with early humans, a visible staff of 100 former spiritual beings took on material bodies. These spiritual volunteers were in fact human beings of another physical world who survived physical death and were progressing as spirit beings in the Spiritual worlds of the Universe. They had volunteered to become humans again on the developing earth and be experienced teachers to the under developed humans of earth.
Stationed in the ancient capital city called Dalamatia, this staff consisted of 50 male-female couples divided into 10 specialized councils, each tasked with mentoring humanity in a key area of civilization. While earthly humans had age limits, their visible teachers were not having that limitation.
For nearly 200,000 years, earthly tribals learnt various aspects of physical and mental development under the able guidance of the superior personalities of the divinely deputed global government of earth. Earth civilization progressed steadily and seamlessly.
But then came the Lucifer Rebellion—a universe-wide declaration of absolute self-will and rejection of divine authority of the Universe. Lucifer was a Spirit Being of the same order as Caligastia and was his superior in the governance system. His jurisdiction extended to one thousand physical worlds including earth ( earth is named Urantia in the Urantia book because of the need to introduce other similar worlds to us)
When Prince Caligastia joined the mutiny, the 10 councils were forced to choose sides. The resulting split forever altered human history.
The Fallen Councils (100% Defection)
In five crucial areas of human civilization, every single council member—along with their department head—joined the rebellion:
Industry & Trade (Led by Nod): Governed manufacturing and early commerce. Nod later led the rebel staff factions (the Nodites).
Health & Life (Led by Lut): Tasked with teaching sanitation, hygiene, and disease control.
Advanced Tribal Relations (Led by Tut): Responsible for diplomacy, peace treaties, and ending tribal warfare.
Animal Domestication (Led by Bon): Taught the taming and ethical use of beasts of burden.
Conquest of Predatory Animals (Led by Dan): Instructed early tribes in group defense and securing wild territories.
When these leaders defaulted, their formal instruction vanished overnight. Humanity was abruptly left to figure out commerce, medicine, and diplomacy through thousands of years of painful trial and error.
The Divided Councils (Partial Defection)
Three councils suffered deep internal splits, where factional arguments tore the leadership apart:
Food & Material Welfare (Led by Ang): 3 stayed loyal; 7 rebelled (including Ang).
Dissemination & Conservation of Knowledge (Led by Fad): 5 stayed loyal (including Fad); 5 rebelled.
Art & Science (Led by Mek): 2 stayed loyal; 8 rebelled (including Mek).
The Faithful Remnant: Van and the 40 Loyalists
Only two councils remained 100% steadfast, refusing to yield to Caligastia’s demands:
College of Revealed Religion (Led by Hap): Preserved the fundamental truth of a single, loving Universal Father, dismantling primitive, fear-based animism.
Supreme Court of Tribal Coordination (Led by Van): The chief administrative body overseeing judicial ethics and planetary order.
Led by Van (Vanondim) and his loyal human associate Amadon, a total of 40 loyal staff members made a heroic stand. They retreated north, secured the physical Tree of Life to maintain their vitality, and held the line for over 150,000 years until the arrival of Adam and Eve.
Given that councils like Trade, Health, and Tribal Relations defected entirely, it is tempting to presume that modern corporate greed, broken healthcare, and geopolitical warfare are actively manipulated by dark spiritual puppet-masters.
However, The Urantia Book offers a reassuring clarification: No.
Stripped of Power: Caligastia was immediately deposed following the rebellion, losing his administrative authority and any capacity to force or manipulate human minds.
Complete Internment following the life and resurrection of Jesus on earth: (Jesus was in fact a Divine Son in the order of Michaels and the Michael of Nebadon - the Creator Son of God and the Sovereign Spiritual Head of the Local Universe called Nebadon to which earth belongs. About 2000 years ago he chose to incarnate on earth as a true human being and provide them the fourth Epochal Revelation to humans about God, his Father. As the local Universe Creator and Ruler, his authority extends to a Universe domain which has over 3.8 million earth like evolutionary worlds already and has an ultimate capacity to have 10 million such worlds and thousands of special non evolutionary worlds. Lucifer, Satan, Caligastia are those few high ranking subordinate spiritual rulers who rebelled against the Universe Administration of God). After Jesus got resurrected from physical death on earth and resumed back to his Rulership position, the rebel leaders were completely removed from their power positions and imposed with restrictions till their trial is completed by the Universe Government and are awaiting universe judgment.
The Real Cause of Modern Flaws: The flaws in modern industry or medicine are not supernatural—they are the result of retarded evolutionary growth. Because our original mentors abandoned their posts, humanity lost centuries of balanced training.
We are no longer living under the shadow of invisible puppet-masters. Modern systems reflect human choices, free will, and spiritual immaturity.
While the collapse of the Corporeal Staff set us back by millennia, it also left us with an extraordinary responsibility. Building fair economic trade, compassionate healthcare, and lasting international peace is no longer a top-down gift from celestial mentors—it is the direct work assigned to human hands and minds today. The Universe Government of God understands our difficulties but is confident that humans can overcome those and attain the divine path of progress and achieve the final goal of Light and Life. There would be severe problems occurring due to human mistakes, free will choices and their reluctance to follow the advice of the divine spark within their minds due to elated egos.
But for those humans who chose to follow the divine guidance within their minds, there's nothing much to worry eventhough they might face much troubles or even sufferings and death. The Divine plan for humans of earth and similar other evolutionary worlds is not to bound them to their evolutionary world of origin, but to have a wonderful journey ahead to the billions of worlds enjoying their Father's unfathomable Universe Resources over an Infinite period of existence. But for that to happen they need to prove that they're worth to gain an everlasting life rather than their animal origin physical life of very short duration.
And God, though compassionate and loving with immense mercy, is also unchanging with respect to his laws! Those who willfully keep rejecting him and his will would perish for ever. Without God, life and Personality are impossible to be sustained.
