10 Most Intoxicating Effects of Success-toxins in Leaders that might Cause Organizational Accidents!

In the wonder world of professional career, success is a key factor to measure the degree of achievement in life.

Life is deemed as useless when success does not come for a man or a woman in regular intervals of time. Ambitious people are not prepared to let success slip away from them. They would not allow defeat or failures.

Even if they are bed ridden in an intensive care unit, many professionals would not give up their fight to succeed. This is especially true for extremely ambitious professionals like the professional politicians!

Greed to work for money, fame, power, achievement and the like keep over powering their softer mind qualities such as compassion, love, sharing, giving and serving.

Compassion, Love and Sharing Are Like Duty Free Chocolates!

For them, their own self is more important than all others!

Both failure and success have intoxicating effects on them, though they get reflected differently.

Work is their passion, and that passion is the only thing that keep them alive. But work has different meanings in their dictionary!

Success acts as mind toxins for them. This intoxication adversely affects some of their key mind faculties.

When it happens, the effect reflects in them in the following manner:

1. They start believing that what is true for them is universally true.
2. They start believing that what they think is the right thing.
3. They start thinking that their interest is everybody's interest.
4. They start dreaming for greater things beyond their capacities.
5. They start thinking that every other fellow works because of them.
6. They set one standard for them and other for others.
7. They become workaholics with no time for other things.
8. They start losing their patience.
9. They fail to adapt to changing situations.
10.They start justifying all acts, right or wrong, justified for success.

The above ten intoxicating effects soon make the one-time success tasted leader beginning to lose ground sooner or later. Their mind intoxication causes their organizations to go through severe set backs.

But it is possible that the effect of success-toxins could be eliminated.

Would you share your solutions to nullify this problem?

Learning to Respect Leaders with 4 Cs for Reducing Acts of Omission and Commission in Public Functions!

Acts of omission (mistakes) and commission (committing a crime) done by people holding responsible positions in public functions or corporate functions are liable for punishment under various rules and regulations as adopted by the concerned organization.

While some acts are easily understandable by any one with some common sense, that is not the case with several others. This difficulty in understanding the depth of an act of omission or commission causes many such acts not getting noticed for corrective actions.

This kind of a situation makes an ideal situation for the propagation of corruption in public life. By the word public, I mean all walks of functions that concerns citizens at large, whether or not the organization concerned is managed privately or publicly.

Acts of omission can happen when people entrusted with certain functions are incompetent to carry out the work properly. In such cases the mistakes they commit are due to ignorance, lack of knowledge or lack of training or lack of up-to-date knowledge or training. Acts of omissions can happen both deliberately or non-deliberately. Whatever be the case, some acts of omission can cause serious problems to the society while some other may not be so serious. Let us consider some examples:

If the pilot of a commercial aircraft or the driver of a passenger train commits an error while doing work, it could turn out to be fatal for many. Many people including the person who commits the error could die in such a case. However, it is not so easy to attribute the said act of omission to the person so easily. Elaborate investigations would be required and the findings of such investigations may not be perfect always because such investigations are also carried out by imperfect beings! This way acts of omission of any one in an organization can cause detrimental effects on others. While some acts of omission may not affect many, some others could affect several people. A surgeon committing a mistake can seriously affect his or her patient, but an engineer making such a mistake could some times affect several people. An on the job mistake of a bank employee, a financial services employee, a mechanic, an electrician, a pathological laboratory technician and the like are all likely to create small and big problems to one or many individuals or even the organizations that they work for.

Hence, it is essential that acts of omission by people at work are kept at the minimum practical levels always. The ways and means of doing this is ensured by good practices of management and governance. To prevent frequent occurrences of acts of omission, it is essential to ensure that the people selected for the work are competent to do the work and are motivated to do it error free always. This is the function of the  management in any organization. If the people of an organization are not generally competent or lacks knowledge to do their work or not motivated to do their work, such a situation could be attributed as an act of omission by the management! Disciplinary actions are often resorted by many legacy organisations to prevent their employees committing mistakes or acts of omission. However, an organization in the hands of a management which is in itself incompetent cannot set things right with disciplinary actions on erring employees because of the likelihood of acts of omissions by the management during execution of the disciplinary actions!

In short, acts of omissions by the management functionaries are much more serious than that of the lower level employees in the long run. In other words, it could be an act of omission of the management that results in acts of omission of the employees of the organization. Thus a pilot or a doctor or an engineer or a technician or a clerk doing an act of omission is partly attributable to an act of omission of the management of the organization where such persons are hired for working.

The simple technique to find out whether a person could actually be held responsible for his act of omission depends on whether he or she had the full control or authority to avoid such an erroneous act. If a person has only responsibilities and no authority or facility to match those responsibilities, the act of omission is not fully attributable to him or her.

But acts of commission are deliberate acts and often done so cleverly that it would be very difficult to detect or even take corrective actions. The acts of commission are criminal or willful acts done for some personal benefit causing larger loss to the public or organization. Higher forms of corruption come under this.

It is easier for top level authorities to commit acts of commission without leaving any direct evidence. Let us consider some illustrations:

A is a large public company making a regular product for the use by another public company, B, to use it for some public infrastructure. Both companies have public servants as their Chief executives and they in turn are answerable to their boards. The CEOs and the board members keep their respective positions so long as their political bosses are pleased with them. It is possible for the top authorities to create a situation where in they could deprive company A from supplying its product to B on some excuse and get the supply from another company, foreign or domestic, who is willing to go to any extent for such a shift in the status-quo. If that happens, there is all possibility that company A go out of business and possibly incur huge losses or even a lock-out later. In another scenario, the CEO of company-A could be influenced in such a way that he or she could immediately make some changes in the production and quality control team so that the product in question deteriorates in quality and company B gets an excuse for sourcing the material from elsewhere!

There are many such scenarios and all these are not mere imaginary ones. Such tacit acts of commission have been taking place here and there in India for the past many years that it has caused the country to be projected and perceived as a nation of corruption.

It is indeed a welcome sign for those silent citizens of India to see that weeding out of corruption has now become the sole objective of an emerging political outfit called the Aam Admi Party or AAP. Whether they could make any marked success or not is some thing to be seen later!

But it is time for all those who consider acts of commission as not any thing to be seriously viewed, to change their attitudes. There is a need to purify the Indian society from this filthy dirt called corruption.

In my opinion, viewing each and every one with suspicion, as we have been doing all along, is not the way to eliminate these acts of omission and commission in various walks of like in public service or business.

Punitive vigilance alone cannot resolve these problems. The right man for the right job should be the core philosophy to be implemented with honesty.

And that is the biggest issue. For that we need people with the 4-Cs that I wrote in a blog earlier.

When we learn to give regard and respect to people with Character, Competency, Courage and Compassion and learn to entrust them with higher responsibilities of leadership, things are going to change positively.

And if people of India are now finding people like Mr Arvind Kejriwal as different from many others is some thing that reflects the desirable positive changes in the attitudes of the Indian people that is slowly and decisively setting in.

At last they are learning to regard and respect the 4-Cs for their own good! If more and more of people of this country are going to realize this, it would indeed make this nation great !

Competency, Character , Courage and Compassion -the 4 C's that Ensure Long term Success of a Leader!

Some time ago, some one in a large organization asked me the essential traits that are required for any leader to lead an organization and ensure long term success. I explained the relevance of Competency, Character, Courage and Compassion the way I understood it, to answer his question. My friend was not so convinced. I know, a good majority of my fellow country men in India would not take my views.

But whether they accept it or not, it is a universal truth. Leaders who do not have these traits might seem to be successful for a while but the irony is that they would not be able to sustain their success for long.

The organization could be any thing. Political, business, governmental, administrative, religious, social, educational, military, law enforcement, judicial, etc, etc. It could be large or small. It could be autonomous or dependent. It could be a organizational conglomerate with multiple objectives or a simple one with a single objective. Whatever it is, leaders lacking the 4 Cs above could ruin it after some time.

Human civilization has seen many powerful political and national organizations such as many great empires of the past rising and thriving for some time, only to be disintegrated wholly after a while.

Even in the recent times we have been observing such phenomena.

While an individual human being with  a life span of say 70-80 years on an average is considered generally as a very good one with regard to age an organization sustaining it activities for a few generations is viewed with some admiration. We have very few organizations of that kind. Even political or national organizations that have survived a few generations are also rare, yet they do exist.

What makes an organization to sustain a life exceeding the average life of a human being? If you study such organizations, you would realize that the leaders of such organizations had the above said 4 C quality much more than their contemporaries.

I think this phenomena is due to the existence of an invisible divine over control over human organizations.

When the majority of people desire their leaders to be some one with the above 4 C's there is a potential divine blessing over such peoples to have such leaders elevated as their leaders. When the majority of people do not give any importance to this aspect, the reverse happens and they are bound to suffer collectively.

Now let us examine what is meant by these four words.

Competency is the ability to perform a desirable task well. It comprises of knowledge, intelligence, wisdom and a desire to learn and update. It involves skills for language, communication and such other soft skills as well. Common sense is very important. Competency is a mixture of inherent qualities enhanced by proper education and training. A leader should be competent enough to know his organization, understand the work, differentiate between good and bad and should have the ability for reasoning and decision making. Different works might require different kinds of competency.

Competency of a person is polished by his or her character. Character is that innate quality of a person to select and opt good from bad. It involves such traits such as honesty, values, ethics and the like. A highly competent person can have a good character or may be ever characterless. A characterless leader with high competency is highly dangerous for the organization and the people. If we study history, we can see hundreds of examples of this kind.

Courage is the trait that makes a leader different. If a leader lacks courage to lead and take appropriate decisions at appropriate moments, such leader could bring failures and disasters for the organization that he leads even while he has enough competency and is a person of character. At the same time courage should not be such that it causes misadventure. In other words, courage should be reflected through wise decisions.

A leader must be compassionate to fellow human beings. His or her decisions should always be based on compassion to other humans. But compassion should not blind him or her from taking corrective actions. A compassionate leader is bound to be 'mild and soft as a dove, but clever and assertive as a serpent'. Love and mercy to all humans be his guiding force. But his competency should come to his aid in weeding out those inherently bad elements who do not deserve love and mercy. Perhaps this is one of the greatest problems many leaders face in their lives. They often commit great errors of judgement in realizing the real motives or natures of others. Often this causes, leaders to like and promote those around them who are good in the art of sycophancy. The fundamental principle to understand here is that people with competency and character are less likely to indulge in pampering others with good words and deeds with some hidden agenda of receiving favors. They are also not likely to fall preys to flattery.

If a nation has survived a few generations successfully, it is an indication that it has strong internal organizations led by people with the 4 C's at various levels. The moment, the national organizations get people who do not have these 4 Cs, the organizations begin to disintegrate. So, it is highly essential that organizations resort to proper leadership changes when leaders of any level is found to lack in the 4 Cs to some recognizable degree.

Though all the four Cs are important, my personal priority of arranging these four in the order of decreasing importance (higher to lower) is like this: Character-Competency-Compassion-Courage!

Often people have this doubt. Would it be possible for a person of character to withstand many others who are characterless in other organizations around?

I would say, yes. And my belief is that in the years to come, characterless people are bound to fail more often than in the past. When I say this, I have some strong intuitive reason for such a belief. That does not mean that we would not be seeing characterless people making successes. Characterless people are going to make short term successes in the future too, just as in the past. But their fall would be quicker.

So, no nation or business would sustain longer when they are infected with people lacking the 4 Cs that I mentioned. Organizations that give honest importance for these 4 Cs for their people are bound to succeed and win over those who do not, in the long run.

Our world is not going to face any global apocalypse or Armageddon . Such scenarios in minor levels could keep happening in the future, because of nations and organizations infected with people lacking the 4 Cs. But total destruction of this world is never going to happen, as feared by many, because of the over control exercised by divine powers. It is absurd to believe that God has created humanity for facing ultimate destruction because of the foolish deeds of some inferior humans or even some inferior angels as believed and taught by some religious leaders of the past or the present.

While the misdeeds of some inferior humans who lack competency, character, courage and compassion in them might bring some disasters now and then, here and there, with some of us facing the consequences, such things should not dishearten us or cause our minds to such levels as praising and admiring evil. In that case we are aligning to the evil that gets happening due to evil men and women who lack the 4 Cs. Instead, it would be better idea to look for instances and people who bring lasting success and the importance of the 4 Cs in those cases. That would help in us aligning towards good rather than evil.

Just think about these and make your own judgments.

Gold and Land : the Two Great Detrimental Forces of Indian Economy !

Traditionally Indian women are irrationally attracted to the yellow metal. Gold is such a compulsive passion and addiction for most of them.

No logic or common sense go into their head when it comes to possessing gold. They are too happy if their near and dear ones spend all their incomes to buy gold ornaments or anything that is made of this shining metal which is other wise of little value to man kind.

They may tell hundred and one arguments in favour of their love for gold.

Any way the World Gold Council (WGC) members should be the happiest lot in this scenario and they are bound to do all they can to keep the Indian women stick to their traditional gold fancy for generations ! This group who controls the 20 odd gold mines of the world need to sell out their produce at the highest profits. A product that otherwise does not have any intrinsic value with regard to its usefulness !

So they keep doing all that is in their arsenal to keep the prices of gold keep rising over the years, though marginally with quantum jumps once every decade !

Total production of gold in the world is to the order of about 2500 metric tonnes per annum.[Source]

Out of the total world production, India imports nearly half. That means all the gold that gets mined and processed gets distributed to the millions of Indian house holds through the hundreds of jewellery shops of India, the only progressing business in India in the recent times.

India spends the major part of its foreign exchange, the hard earned money of Indian exporters and the Indian dollar workers, to import arms, petroleum and gold. Out of which the first and second get fired up and the gold becomes invisible, once it goes into the custody of the Indian women.

Indian women might tell that gold is their safest guarantee to safeguard against future financial difficulties. But in reality even when they actually try to use their gold for ensuring a financial problem, their gold would make them face more problems rather than save them from it. That is because their reluctance to sell it even when there is a crisis. They prefer to take loans pledging their gold at very high interest rates creating a situation for a bigger loss for them or their family.

Imagine the gold that has cumulatively sunk into the Indian house holds all these years !

In this context listen to what this economist warns : The collective obsession of 1.2 billion people with gold can play havoc in the economy unless govt draws up a plan !

Yes, indeed this maddening obsession is one of the reasons India remains as a poor nation. It is difficult to understand this for most people. How can you consider some one possessing half the gold of the world poor ?

But remember ! Gold is not going to get you food, water, education, health or jobs !

Gold ornaments are not going to make any women look attractive also. Those wearing those just as the brides of south India, in reality look ugly ! ( Excuse me for using that word so blatantly !)

Anything in excess is going to  burst after some time. Those who madly spend their money to buy and hoard gold should remember that.

Another facet of Indian economy is the illogical pricing of land. This tendency gained momentum in the recent past.

Land is not yet a scarce natural resource in India. Vast tracks of land are lying vacant without any useful economic activities.

Some people are using land as a unit of hoardable wealth just like gold. This tendency has made all other necessities of life such as housing, education, hospital care, roads and other infrastructure becoming unaffordable and with negative returns on investment.

When India became an independent republic, the visionary leaders had maintained some controls on gold and land. Gold controls and land ceiling acts and regulations were part of that visionary thinking.

As of now, it seems that the Indian leadership has purposefully decided to be vision less with regard to gold and land, the two detrimental forces of economic development !

Detrimental when dealt without vision !

Give a thought to this,  dear ladies and leaders !

Their Reality and Our Reality !

I am a design engineer by profession. I consider it a very difficult profession. To be a good designer you have to learn a lot, experience a lot and then think a lot. All these activities are not so palatable for those who want to enjoy life without using their brains.

Whenever I find difficulty visualizing the complexities involved in making some designs come true, a thought comes to my mind. That is about those designers who visualized the designs of the most complex things that we ever can imagine !

Yes, I am referring to the material life forms that we see all around us. It encompasses every form of material life around us, including us.

I often try to think of a better design than what I observe in the design of my own body. No, I am not at all capable of doing that. A big 'Pranam' to those great designers!

But I cannot visualize them. I cannot see them. But my mind tells that they are real. Because no complex design is ever possible without the application of intelligent mind!

So my mind can recognise the reality of existence of superior intelligences that designed all these marvellous designs that we see in out material world.

As I cann't understand and visualize these intelligences, shall I simply say it is God, just as you all are saying. Oh, it is God and we cannot understand that. God is just beyond our comprehension. Why waste time and energy to think of something that we just cannot comprehend?

Any way we have been told to prostate ourselves before God. And we have been doing that.

But yet some curiosity and doubt about God and His ways. Is He alone ? How does He function ? Is He just commanding to create things just out of nothing like a magician ?

Does He have an organization of intelligent personalities doing the work for Him without we ever directly knowing about it?

Oh ! My God! Tell us whether you are a reality just as we think we are realities.

Those so called spiritual leaders and saints say that you are a reality. They also make money by teaching us that you teach them in secret.

But Oh God ! Are you a reality ? Do you understand our languages ? Do you understand our science and technology? Do you understand Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics ? Have you ever told our spiritual leaders about these things ?

I recently read a book supposedly written by unseen intelligent personalities from your side. There are too many authors, supposedly experts in various fields of knowledge.

Being a designer myself in the material realm, I am overwhelmed when one of the invisible authors of this book wrote about the work of artisans who work for you in the realms that are not discernable to us now.

Let me reproduce some of which this particualar author wrote:

"All these activities of the morontia and spirit worlds are real. To spirit beings the spirit world is a reality. To us the material world is the more unreal. The higher forms of spirits freely pass through ordinary matter. High spirits are reactive to nothing material excepting certain of the basic energies. To material beings the spirit world is more or less unreal; to spirit beings the material world is almost entirely unreal, being merely a shadow of the substance of spirit realities.

"I cannot, with exclusive spirit vision, perceive the building in which this narrative is being translated and recorded. A Divine Counselor from Uversa who chances to stand by my side perceives still less of these purely material creations. We discern how these material structures appear to you by viewing a spirit counterpart presented to our minds by one of our attending energy transformers. This material building is not exactly real to me, a spirit being, but it is, of course, very real and very serviceable to material mortals.

"There are certain types of beings who are capable of discerning the reality of the creatures of both the spirit and the material worlds. Belonging to this class are the so-called fourth creatures of the Havona Servitals and the fourth creatures of the conciliators. The angels of time and space are endowed with the ability to discern both spirit and material beings as also are the ascending mortals subsequent to deliverance from the life in the flesh. After attainment of the higher spirit levels the ascenders are able to recognize material, morontia, and spirit realities.

"There is also here with me a Mighty Messenger from Uversa, an ascendant Adjuster-fused, onetime mortal being, and he perceives you as you are, and at the same time he visualizes the Solitary Messenger, the supernaphim, and other celestial beings present. Never in your long ascendancy will you lose the power to recognize your associates of former existences. Always, as you ascend inward in the scale of life, will you retain the ability to recognize and fraternize with the fellow beings of your previous and lower levels of experience. Each new translation or resurrection will add one more group of spirit beings to your vision range without in the least depriving you of the ability to recognize your friends and fellows of former estates.

"But I almost despair of being able to convey to the material mind the nature of the work of the celestial artisans. I am under the necessity of constantly perverting thought and distorting language in an effort to unfold to the mortal mind the reality of these morontia transactions and near-spirit phenomena. Your comprehension is incapable of grasping, and your language is inadequate for conveying, the meaning, value, and relationship of these semispirit activities. And I proceed with this effort to enlighten the human mind concerning these realities with the full understanding of the utter impossibility of my being very successful in such an undertaking.

It seems to me Oh God, that you have undertaken some efforts to tell us about your ways now as we understand it in this 21st century. Many of the terms that the author has written are never heard by us before !

The author who wrote the above must be a reality as he talks with so much confidence and trying to talk about their realities and our realities inorder that we in our reality try to understand it.

But it will take most of us much time to come out of what our spiritual leaders have been teaching us all these ages. According to them, you just cannot teach us realities. At the most about Maya, illusions and about the abstract spirituality are that we can learn from you. That is what our enlightened spiritual leaders say.

Those who are not in their spell are few in numbers, O God !

A CORRUPT SOCIETY WITH CORRUPT INDIVIDUALS TRYING TO FIGHT CORRUPTION BRINGS ABOUT MORE CORRUPTION.

You cannot expect corrupt and characterless individuals to work for eradication of corruption. A characterless or corrupt leader cannot and will not promote people of character and conviction and most likely they promote weak and characterless people and assign them important responsibilities.

Let us consider some common examples here. In India, we are very familiar with corruption in the Road Transport Authority (RTA) offices, in the Police Department and probably in all government offices dealing with the general public. The registration department, the lower judiciary and the like are all in this category and any one who attempt to do any thing anytime concerning these departments will immediately know how deep routed is this malady in our country. In India, we know this and that is the Indian way of life. No escape !

You cannot get a driving licence issued in the normal way, because such normal way systems are hidden from the public. But if you are ready to spend some excess amount over and above the fee prescribed by the law, then you can get the license within no time. You can even get the license without even undergoing the driving test! In 99% of the RTA offices, this is the situation. Of course there could be some exceptions here and there.

Have you ever analysed the reason for this ? Why such a thing is uncommon in the developed nations?

Let us try to analyse this situation. Corruption here starts from the officers of the government authorized to issue the licenses. Say the Inspectors and the Issuing Authorities, called the Regional Transport Authorities. Some officers are responsible for examining the individuals and check their driving competencies and then issue the licenses, only when they are convinced that the individual has the required proficiency in driving. The assessment here is not based on any quantifiable inputs, but on the basis on the true conviction of the assessment officer on the basis of his witnessing the driving test physically demonstrated before him. The officer can also ask questions about road safety rules and things like that.

But what happens here is that most officers do not venture for such a thing now. In some states, like in Kerala, the officers are stricter and conduct the assessment in a stricter way and in some other states like Madhya Pradesh, the checking is just a cursory one.

Now you can see that the issue of license is based on qualitative assessment of the assessment officer. The assessment officer is free to decide on the issue any way he likes. He is free to be whimsical or he is free to be just and strict. It is purely up to him.

In such a scenario, what happens? If he is going to be just and strict, it causes some hurdle to me and you to get the license. We have to really learn driving and its rules. In that case, the drivers on the roads will be people with real competency the roads would be much safer and disciplined. The real purpose of issuing license for driving would have been met.

Now, if we are characterless people, we try to circumvent the situation and would try getting the license, the easier way. That is by luring the assessment officer for easing his strictness. So we are ready to bribe that officer and the officer is ready to get bribed and oblige!

So within no time, the licensing office becomes a collection center for illegal money.

The RTA officers and staff now have an opportunity to make an extra income in liquid cash, not accounted any where. The amount varies from person to person and location to location. In some places, the persons concerned makes easy money many times more than their monthly salaries. Now these officers are vested with many other such powers, where whimsical decision making is possible and consequently, opportunity for making illegal cash through bribes.

The RTA officers and staff have become collection agents for black money. The story is not ending here.

They have to shell out the ill gotten money to their superiors, at least some portion of it. Otherwise they will get transferred to some remote areas where the opportunity for making such money is less or shunted out to some posts where there is no scope for making such monies.

So from the lower collection centers and individuals the higher authorities get the share, all in black. From the lower government employees the money flows. The political bigwigs then fight for getting 'important' portfolios in the ministries. The 'importance' here comes from the opportunity for making big cash.

Who is corrupt here ? Who is to be blamed?

I say, it is we the public. We are those small payers from whom the big black money gets generated.

If we decide to get our licenses in the normal way and decides not to pay those extra small sums to ease out our one time difficulties, this corruption could have been eliminated.

But one or two individuals in public cannot do it. There has to be a majority conviction for that. The majority in the public should have character and conviction!

If that is not feasible, then the officers of the RTA has to be people of character, conviction and competency.

That can happen only when the authorities above them have the same qualities.

That too seems difficult now.

So, a characterless society with characterless people cannot eradicate corruption !

If the majority of the individuals in the society or country are weak and characterless, they are are likely to be corrupt either actively or passively.

In such societies corruption will be an inherent phenomenon.

Any attempt of fighting corruption by such a society is bound to enhance the penetration and effects of corruption and make the situation worse and worse!

THE MORE IMMATURE YOU ARE, THE MORE YOU WANT TO BE THE KING !

Have you ever wondered why the kings of the olden days wore heavy ornamental attires and crowns, even when they were not so comfortable? I would say they were immature in those days and they believed that such attires made them appear different from the common masses and made them adorable.

But in reality, what was the case? There used to be clever fellows around them who used to make the actual rules and some how made these kings to believe that these were the realities.

These kings used to be mostly immature people with low IQs. So, the intelligent and clever fellows around them could get them dance the way they wanted. The king-makers were in reality the clever fellows behind the scenes who actually managed the show keeping the show-piece ruler in public view!

The general public also used to be immature. So they believed that the kings are enjoying life fully and aspired to be like the kings. In fact, neither the kings, nor the public were intelligent enough to see the clever and intelligent fellows who manipulated them, invisibly most of the time.

Immature and unintelligent people want to be followers. Just like the flies and insects that fly to the fire for their instant burning death without ever knowing about such an eventuality!

Not realizing the dangers involved, they dream to become like the showy leaders and those holding high authorities fascinated by the charms and outwardly display of power by these immature kings. They keep thinking about those in power as looting and enjoying life pleasures all the time, even though the realities are far away from their imaginations.

So those among them, with a higher level of ambition, try hard to achieve such positions by hook or crook, even when they do not have the qualities required to lead for betterment of themselves and the masses.

In an intelligent and matured society, leadership is a voluntary service. Both the leaders and the followers know it. Those who volunteer to become the leaders truly work for the betterment of all and might even sacrifice their personal comforts. Those who are not the leaders support the leaders in all possible ways that the leaders' efforts become fruitful for all.

Matured leaders would never try to display their power and they would be as humble as possible in accordance with the true meaning of the word 'minister' . And not like the immature kings of the old!

Is there any scope for the majority Indian society or those societies like India to become mentally matured in the near future?

Let me quote a famous truth which the wise men in minority understand well " Affectation(deliberate pretention) is the ridiculous effort of the ignorant to appear wise, the attempt of the barren (lifeless) man to appear rich." (From the Urantia Book)
