Women Can't Have It All; Neither Can the Men!

Today morning I was going through the excerpts of the views expressed by Indra Krishnamoorthy Nooyi, the high profile lady President and the CEO of the multibillion, multinational soft drink company of the world-PepsiCo, that the Times of India published.

The Times of India titled the article like this: Why PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi Can't Have it All?

The views expressed by this lady CEO essentially highlight the high work load of a CEO and the problems that such persons face in their lives due to paucity of time for the home and family especially when the CEO happens to be woman. The lady CEO is in the dominant role of the boss at her work place but has to be in the conventionally submissive  family role of a daughter, wife and mother at home!

Coping up with these mutually antagonistic roles is not an easy task, according to Ms.Nooyi. She has been 'trying all kinds of coping mechanisms'.

As compared to the men, the women have additional problems.

'The biological clock and the career clock are in conflict with each other'. Indra Nooyi admits from her experience.

So having all the benefits of the career and the family in one go is very difficult for the women. Women simply can't have it all!

So, those women who can't cope with all these either sacrifice the career or some thing of their family life!

Otherwise they have to do the continuous balancing act consciously through out their lives just as the trapeze artists. It is indeed a risky game of life! You simply can't enjoy a high profile career and a good and satisfied family life simultaneously, unless you are prepared to do some adjustments!

But is it an exclusive problem of the women alone? I think, men also can't have it all without doing the trapeze acts! But unlike the women, they prefer not to complain because of their male egos. Perhaps there won't be any one to listen to their problems.

Biologically men and women are to become complementary pairs to form the basic unit of mankind, the family. They are naturally made for different functions to complete the human functions. They are not made for doing the same functions!

Thus both husband and wife cannot be both heads of the same family at the same time. Life becomes smooth and natural when men and women go according to their natural designs.

CEO's by nature are people who have the first degree priority attached to career growth and official work regardless they are men or women. All of them face the dilemma of prioritization of priorities of life and have willfully chosen career as the first priority over others. That is how they have become the CEO's. But having accomplished that they have to cope up with the pressures of prioritization of priorities!

They have to do the cope up acts, the balancing acts, the sacrificial acts and many such things which are difficult for normal human beings. Many CEO's thus become naturally abnormal as a consequence of their balancing acts!

But all bosses are essentially minor replicas of God on earth.

If they knew something of the great secrets of God, perhaps they could have accomplished all their tasks much easier.

Because God is the Supreme CEO of the Universe and yet He copes up with all the CEO pressures so easily without any one ever noticing it.

And one of the most important secrets of God as the Universal CEO is the manner in which God has delegated work and power (responsibilities) to all His subordinate personalities of the universe. [Read the potential of delegation in progress and development!]

Our management gurus know much about the power of delegation and mentoring in management whether it is management of the family, small business, big business or even the governments.

But we are all with human weaknesses and that prevent us from perfectly practicing what we know.

Most CEOs fail utterly in delegating work and authority. They fail utterly in mentoring people to perform and progress. They keep indulging in others work because they fail to trust people even after delegation, making their delegation degrade to pseudo-delegation.

Have you ever seen the Universe CEO interfering in your life? God has delegated you free will for all decisions and choices. Having done that, God will not interfere in your free will in any way even while He possesses all powers to do that.

And imagine the problems of God, had He been to solve the problems of all in the universe even after he delegating the powers of solving the problems to all below! But God is perfect and He never changes the rules in between, even while He has the powers to do all that.

And just imagine the situation, when the human CEOs ( we are all CEOs in one way or other for some situation) trying to imitate God and work as true replicas of God on earth by truly using the God given powers wisely! Perhaps then, the work of others would not shift unfavorably to a few others, making imbalances in our human relations.

Perhaps we might tend to become a society in true progress with less and less individual problems.

Neither Indra Nooyi nor any others like her need not be over worked and without paucity of time, provided they know how to delegate responsibilities to those who are capable of discharging those responsibilities equally well.

A good leader or boss knows the art of distributing his or her powers and responsibilities to each and every individual down below in the team commensurate with their individual capacities to make use of those delegation effectively.

When the boss does delegation of authority and responsibility improperly, the organization fails to perform adding to the woes of the boss.

In the family too, such delegation of work and responsibilities is to be implemented with much care. If done well, the family too would become a smooth running mini organization.

When every one is enabled to perform according to their inherent capacities we get complimentary families and organizations that run well without causing problems to others.

At least, things would be better and bosses may not be required to devote more time than their subordinates to make their organizations perform.

The gender of the boss would not make any difference too!

The Phenomenon of Psychic Imprint and the Human Difficulty to Accept Better Things !

Imprint is a word came from the printing and publishing industry, which means making a permanent stamp about some thing (on the printed material or book).

Psychic imprint means making a permanent concept recorded deep inside the mind of a living being, animals, birds or human beings.

Zoologists have demonstrated that chicks of some birds imprint any moving thing that they see first after hatching out of the eggs as their mother. If they see a man, they are bound to be after him as if he is their parent !

Human beings do make certain imprints in their minds during the course of their life from birth to death.

Concepts of father, mother, siblings, relations, manners, cultures, language, religion, rituals and various other ideas and perceptions in the minds of human beings are based on imprinted information that resides deep in their subconscous memory region of the mind some where in their brains.

Unlike animals and birds, human beings have the capacity to change the imprinted concept using their intelligent logic systems that are also somewhere in the brains.

However, for many people having a lower brain capacity with regard to intelligent logic and reasoning, it is extremely difficult to erase an imprint that was recorded earlier in the memory bank.

That is why change is a painful experience for most of the human beings even when such changes are better for them.

More than ninety percent of the human populace come under this category.

So they may find it extremely difficult to change to a new house, new area of work, new method of work ,  a new food habit or a new religious concept.

Out of these the last one is the most difficult.

The imprinted concept of God and the religious rituals are the most difficult for people to change.

Organized religions maintain their hold in the society on account of this difficulty that the majority of people have.

Thinking differently is a difficult proposition for most people because their logical reasoning capacity is below a certain threshold.

Yet they may be brought up to a different thought level by use of external stimulants such as lure, force or fear.

In that case their imprints get imprinted with a new imprint to remain in that state unless not changed again by similar techniques.

This technique is used by various cadre organizations such as the armed forces and the anti social organizations to maintain their cadres. Religious organizations may also employ this technique !

So long as the people have the biological deficiency in their brains to change their imprinted concepts by self analysis and reasoning this kind of a situation is bound to continue.

For making the society progressive, you need more and more people of the self actualizing types !

They are the ones capable of logical thinking and reasoning who can change their own mind imprints at will.

But brain capacities are birth determined.

Biological upgradation cannot happen overnight !

It took me months to culture out a special bacteria capable of consuming chemical pollutants from waste water from a sample of ordinary E-coli bacteria. Hundreds of bacterial generations passed away before the required ones with the ability of eating phenols developed.

I could see it happening before my eyes because bacteria has a life span of a few days only.

But in human beings that is not the case. Years or ages might be required for a major cultural change !

Though a few individuals might over come their difficulties for adapting and accepting good changes by their own determination and free will, it is not going to happen for the majority of people in any generation.

So those of the advanced types might feel frustrated.

But frustration is not the answer.

Anxiety must be abandoned.

The advanced types must also need to learn patience !

Because, impatience is a mind poison !

Modern Time Wasting Quality Management Systems !

Way back in the Nineteen Seventies, when I was an engineering student, computers had been making a big appearance in the world, emerging from their secret production sites located mainly in the United States of America.

The majority of people knew nothing of computers. But many of them had heard about this magic machine of the 20th century. But those who knew a bit more had apprehensions too. That is why some of them kept warning those top optimists about the dangers of  the 'rubbish- in- rubbish- out' (RIRO) kind of situation that is likely with the computer dominated world.

In my life time I have seen this transformation taking place. I have also seen the riro situation also that got developed in the world in most of the work areas. The computer helps in reducing work loads of some and simultaneously enhances the load in other areas !

Anyway, that is what I wanted to write in this blog. It is some thing else which got developed in the 20th century in a big way for giving benefits to the society. Here too I find it as a coin having two sides !

I refer to the modern Quality Management Systems generally now known as the ISO 9000 series.

Before starting what I am going to say, let me apologize sincerely to all the modern management consultants , consulting companies and a host of their institutions and organizations worldwide who keep producing massive documentations and presentations so vigorously and painfully that have helped immensely to make the Art of Management of the past to the Management Science of the present !

I honour their dedicated works. Because they who do it are doing it sincerely with full devotion. If I say some thing without much knowledge about their great works that might appear as foolish criticism to any thing coming under the domain of  management experts and gurus, even inadvertently, I should make the apology in advance.

During the initial years of my professional career, for a couple of years  I was a first line manager of a chemical process plant which operated on a semi-continuous manner. The plant operating staff who manned the various operations of the plant were required to maintain the quality and quantity of production in the desired levels. As the chemical processes kept happening inside the process vessels and pipes, for an outsider who visited the plant at any time could only see the plant personnel in the plant sitting here and there without doing anything. Apparently they appeared to others without any work ! Their actual works were all momentary that it was difficult for outsiders to know more about their jobs by watching them for some time. During those days I found it as one of the difficult task for me to make the top management of the company and the management systems departments such as the Industrial Engineering Department (IED in short not to be confused with the present popular IED which stands for Improvised Explosive Device which is of prime attraction to the mass media!) to understand the nature of the jobs of my people and the justifying the need of those plant operating personnel. The work of justifying the work often hindered the efficacy of the actual work ! This Industrial Engineering in itself was a great fad in those days in India that many industries had powerful IEDs which decided how many people were required in other works departments. Good or bad, the IEDs have almost become a non-existent thing in 21st century India. I do not know much about other countries !

The practice those days was something like this. If I needed a person to be recruited for doing a work in my department, I make a projection for 5 people, get it studied by the IED who eventually cut it to three based on their 'scientific work-time studies' and the two got further bargained at higher levels and ultimately I getting a minimum two instead of the one I really needed. A win-win situation for all concerned ! Had the management trusted the actual man concerned they never would have needed all those management time wasting carried out for months to decide 100 percent extra man-power !

But trust is a word which does not exist in the management dictionary !

Modern management and management systems are devised on the presumption that people cannot be trusted ! If you say that a wild lion cannot be trusted it is understandable. But if you say that a human being of the 21st century cannot be trusted then what is being said ultimately would equate man and beast on the same level.

The IED of the 20th century has reappeared now as various systems of management now emerging under one umbrella called the ISO 9000 series .

Is it doing any good ?

Of course! But that is perhaps for its practitioners and advocates !

Recently, a customer asked an expert opinion from an engineer working in an ISO 9001 certified engineering consultancy company.

Our engineer knows how to satisfy his customer by giving his expert advice in a moment.

In earlier years he had done that many times.

But now his organisation follows approved systems and procedures in accordance with the ISO certification. Unfortunately this kind of an advice is not listed now in the approved procedures .

Our engineer explained in detail his helplessness to the customer.

Poor customer ! He is slowly understanding what ISO means !

It is time for all those companies who pay through their nose and keep spending their time and efforts to get and maintain this ISO certification to do a rethinking.

I am just initiating a thought process !

[A special note added on 20-11-12: Mr Gunnar Rundgren, former CEO Grolink AB and the present President of IFOAM has authored a blog ' Quality management is a management fad elevated to divinity' in support of what I have written above. He has made a comment below giving the link to his article which I am providing here, conveniently clickable.

The major problem why the QMS under ISO 9001 would eventually bring about disasters for the organization is because of the luke warm or half hearted approach of the top management. QMS under ISO 9001 is envisaged as a management system standard where top management commitment, honesty and competence is of prime importance. I would like my readers, who are interested, to read this article : The Rise and Fall of ISO9001 written by Mr Ashok M Thakkar, President & CEO of ITTI Llc Roswell, Georgia.]

Do You Want Power and Money ? It's Easy, Just Bow Before Him !

There is a story in the Bible about Jesus facing the testing of Satan. In one of those tests Satan tells Jesus that he would just leave the control of earth to Jesus' if Jesus acknowledge him as the boss by bowing to him.

In other words, Jesus had to make a small compromise for achieving a big success !

Restating this in our modern political management concepts it would mean just saying 'yes sir' to Satan whenever an occasion comes so that Satan the boss becomes too pleased.

The pleased boss would entrust all the wealth and power portfolios to his obedient subordinate or subordinates !

In the satanic ways of management it is this simple !

Just be ready to say 'yes sir' or 'yes boss' always to the one above to acquire power and position !

Then the boss would be pleased to elevate you to important positions, even when you do not have the capacity to discharge the responsibilities associated with those power positions.

You are entitled to enjoy status, position, perks and the like so long as the boss is pleased with you.

For pleasing the boss the primary requirement is keep saying yes to whatever the boss wants. Boss wants to be adored and he likes all those who keep adoring him. Even if those adorations are false he would not mind. After all he knows that he is not God.

Even when your own judgement is not in agreement with the boss you have to simply shake your head in agreement with the boss. In hindi language this is known as Mundi Hilao Management (MHM) or Head Bow Management (HBM)

For the onlookers it appears as a very easy and simple thing.

Satan knew the inherent qualities and power of Jesus. Perhaps that is the reason why he made it simple for Jesus. Jesus was required only to acknowledge the superiority of Satan to gain the control of earth.

Any way Jesus did not compromise. He admonished Satan reminding him about the fundamental requirement of all creatures in the universe. All creatures including Satan and human beings are to bow only to the Universal Creator God. No one else !

But Satan keeps trying with others.

He wants to make an independent system in the universe where he can be the god.

Even if it is some thing smaller than the God's Universe, he does not care !

So long as he is adored and worshipped like God in his smaller domain, he is pleased.

He is also ready to share his spoils with those willing to make compromises.

He is ready to make all those willing to be in his line and accept him as god as smaller gods in their own domains.

The requirements are not very difficult and the rewards are very appealing and quick.

You have to say yes sir to the boss and of course be willing to work against the universal law of love and mercy that God has given to His creations.

So requirement number one : be ready to bow to any one not necessarily only the Universal Creator God.

Requirement number two : work against God's plans.

So if God says you be merciful to all your fellow creatures and human beings, you should now twist it a bit saying that it is wise to be good only to your own near and dear ones. No one else !

If God wants you to be compassionate and honest  to your subordinates, you can twist it a bit by saying that 'those under me are my slaves, I can treat them the way I like'. The boss is entitled to mistreat his subordinates !

If some one is not showing respect, you can teach him or her a lesson till he or she bows to you. After all you are also a smaller god. Those below you should necessarily acknowledge that !

If a person is not agreeing and saying yes sir, you can crush him or her. That is justified.

If some one is showing sycophancy you are entitled to enjoy that to the full and reward the sycophant adequately with undue favours. Boss means demigod after all !

Satan is in the look out for people who do not mind acknowledging him as the master for gaining money and power.

Thousands are doing that and really gaining money and power.

But in that process they are trapped by Satan to live according to him and not according to God.

Knowingly or unknowingly Satan has become their god.

So what ? Any way there should be a god. I have chosen this one as my boss or god and it is serving my purpose and getting me money, power and the joys of life in this world. That is the logic of those who follow the unseen dark powers that exist in this world.

Success, fame, money, wealth, power, ego satisfaction, mass following and the like are easily accomplished by those who are willing to accept satanic principles.

But Satan does not guarantee good things always.

Perpetual happiness and well being are not fully guaranteed.

Risks of losing health and life are always there.

Not only the the material life of this world, but also the much more rewarding life in a higher form of existence that God has promised to all those who conduct their life according to His laws.

And to seek God's laws it is not necessary to run here and there.

For it is written in the minds of all men and women.

They are only required to look in to their own minds and be willing to conduct themselves in accordance with those inbuilt laws.

God has given you the power to chose.

He will no way interfere as He is not like the other boss who delegates power and works against it.

I have experienced this: acquiring money and power is very easy.

But I have also experienced this: It is not worth to acquire those by bowing to Satan and his associates !

You are likely to lose much more precious things in life !

The Poor Indian Bosses !

There are many humorous writings and case studies about bosses. Mostly the management students and those connected with the corporate work culture are familiar with such stories.

In the management education parlour, there is a study on ' how to manage your boss' ! Corporate management training institutes often give much importance in teaching their young executives about the importance of 'managing' their bosses.

Although most of the cases relating to bosses are universal in nature, there are certain things which to some extent could be specially applicable to Indian bosses. Because most of the Indian bosses are a bit different from their foreign counter parts. By foreign, I meant those belonging to the countries which have surpassed the colonial culture !

It is now a generally accepted principle of the corporate world that the ability to manage one's boss is one of the most desirable qualities needed to succeed in career. Perhaps more desirable than knowledge and competence to do his or her work !

Now, those who are not connected with the corporate culture might genuinely ask this question. If these bosses are such a difficult management issue, why at all there should be bosses ?

Poor ignorant chaps. They simply cannot understand all these complicated management systems of modern world. There cannot be any corporate systems without bosses. Bosses are inseparable necessities in corporate world. There cannot be any management without bosses!

In olden times, the bosses used to be very powerful fellows. They were capable of hiring and firing. In modern world too, there are bosses who exercise that prerogative, but not many.

In the corporate world, one interesting thing is the existence of the hierarchy of bosses. These bosses are also called the executives or officers or managers. Every one is a boss and subordinate at the same time.

Those inducted into a corporate organization soon become very conscious about their status as a boss of some standing in the society, even though their standing in their organization is of no consequence to the society at large. This is one trait which is specially applicable to the Indian bosses. After getting into a corporate work culture, perhaps for the purpose of a simple livelihood initially, the meaning of work soon transcends the barriers of the vocation and becomes much more than that for the individual, if the individual is inducted to the organization as a boss at some level.

Indians who happen to do some job in any organization in the capacity as a boss soon begin to develop a peculiar bossy culture and pseudo personality. The more they are vested with 'bossy powers' the more their likelihood of developing an artificial personality.

For example, police officers are vested with more such arbitrary powers. So those bosses of the police are likely to be a different person even at their homes !

The more bossy you are the more you are supposed to be aloof from other individuals. That is what the Indian bosses somehow have learnt from their past ! Their 'power' has to be judged from their faces and attitudes that they are likely to show to those who are their subordinates or equivalent in their assessment. I think there could be other reasons also for this. Some of the bosses who are nearer to still superior powers are some what afraid of their rather unstable position. The more 'up' you are on the ladder, the more susceptible you to a 'fall'. So they prefer to avoid any kind of such situations that could possibly cause a fall. So their anxiety of their positional situation makes them to show off a grim face always ! Yet another reason could be that they begin to look upon every one around as an 'opportunity seeker' just as they themselves ! They want to repel such persons ! Whatever be the reasons, the boss who is much up in the organizational ladder soon loses the pleasant face and becomes a tense, unapproachable person. This usually makes the subordinates secretly call this boss a moron.

The junior bosses will aspire to become senior bosses by promotions, which is the usual corporate gimmick to keep these fellows motivated to cling to their corporate work zone. Promotions means a different designation of their job title, some rise in the pay package and more importantly other things which in the corporate culture are known by the term 'perks'. These perks could be a company car, a different type of chair to sit, some cosmetic changes in the cabin to sit, etc, etc. Though they are not of much consequence to the life of the individual in general, the cultural transformation has made the individual 'die' for these small things if denied at the 'desired' time.

The ambition of all persons who happen to be a part of this corporate culture is to 'rise' to the higher levels of bossism in the organization and if most importantly to the highest boss post during the career span of the individual.

With every rise in the boss ladder, the individual assumes more 'gravity' of bossism and most likely get himself or herself aloof from the rest of the world. The chief boss becoming the least accessible to others! Especially the Indian chief boss soon becomes some thing like the Indian idol of the Deity in the temples. They become objects of worship by the lesser mortals and lesser bosses ! They 'enjoy' the power of determining the 'fate' of those below them. The fate mostly concerning the promotions and positioning of the lesser bosses !

The second line bosses who are waiting to become the chief boss keep waiting for the chief boss to retire or die anxiously. They are the ones who pamper the 'outgoing' chief with praises and hymns not only in the office but even beyond that on a 7x24 basis. Their sycophantic flattery soon transforms the boss who happen to occupy the chief boss' chair to an altogether different person, perhaps not belonging to the mortal race, but to the order of the gods.

Unlike the political scene, the corporate world has evolved a rule by which the employees are to retire after attaining some age regardless of they being a boss or not.

So the chief boss in the corporate world, if he or she has come up to that position by the so called career growth, has to retire or superannuate after some time after reaching that position. Perhaps at an age of say 60 that is applicable in India for most instances.

The date of retirement is the most 'painful' day for most Indian bosses, especially if they happen to be the chief bosses. All those lesser mortals and lesser bosses who kept singing songs of praises and ultra obedient manners for a few months previously soon would show a 'nasty' or unfriendly face henceforth.

They soon are likely to feel like 'fish out of water'. All of a sudden the friendly world around them has turned out to be either strange or hostile !

The situation at home also would not be much different. They soon would find even the family members too not showing the reverence that they used to show when they occupied the chair of the chief boss or chief executive !

I remember the pathetic situations in which some of these kind of people whom I personally had known faced post their retirements. One was a very senior officer of the organization where I joined as a junior boss. At the time when I knew him, he was in some middle management position and showed enough bossy attitudes commensurate with that position. Junior bosses like me used to be 'scared' of him ! There was no question of talking to such a person as a normal human being !

In some years time this person rose to the chief boss position and I rose to a position that he held years before when I joined the organization. He was the chief of nearly 3000 odd lesser order bosses all scared of the chief.

Later this chief retired and settled in his own home which was near to the our residences. He used to go for evening and morning walks in the streets. Now, all those who used to bow to him with reverence earlier showed no regard to him and behaved as if they were total strangers. Since he was a super boss he never took the efforts of having personal friendship or fellowship with any of these hundreds of others who lived around him.

Soon people forgot about him, though he was living in the same locality.

In a few years time, I became the elected head of a professional body of engineers of that city. This body used to honour one or two veterans every year and I was entrusted to nominate and invite a person to be awarded that year. Since the chief boss was a prominent engineer of yester years, I decided to nominate him and I personally went to his house to invite him formally to receive our award.

Nearly a decade had gone after he had relinquished his powerful post when I met him. He was no more the 'lion' of a person ! We both talked for quite some time in the most cordial and affectionate manner. And when I communicated our decision to award him that year, he became too emotional and began to cry loudly holding my arms! That was the tears of sorrow of being in isolation in a populated place that was his home for many decades !

This is just one such example I have narrated. But it is a typical situation many Indian bosses might face when out of power and position later in their retired life !

I keep seeing the next generations of bosses who follow the same path.

I do not know about the bosses in other countries. My readers can enlighten me and other readers through their comments.

One thing is sure. Doing the job of the boss is a difficult one. Those who are in it need to be extremely careful in not landing into a situation of painful isolation in the years ahead.

For that they have to consciously make efforts to unlearn the culture of bossism that keep building up in their nerves and brains during the long years of their work for a livelihood as a boss!

I earnestly hope the Indian Society to have a different breed of bosses in the times to come !

There are simple ways to become good bosses and effective leaders of the corporate world. Many of these things are routinely taught by the management institutes. But unfortunately, all bosses do not get the chance to get exposed to such management trainings. Some purposefully avoid such opportunities due to their bossy egos. For some others, such exposures do not make any impact again due such a mental state.

But more than these stereotyped executive development programmes there are many simple natural ways by which a boss who is 'up in the ladder' can come back to a normal state of mind.

I think I would address those in some other blogs.

Escaping from the 'God-dog' Syndrome !

A person inducted as a responsible link in any organisational set up would immediately land in to a very complex behavioural situation. He or she is boss and subordinate to some one all at the same time ! An organisation regardless of its objective and purpose, is made up of an endless chain. But most people fail to understand this 'endless' characteristics of the organisation. What is apparent in an organisation is a powerful head with many weak tails, linked together by links of varying strengths and powers.

Human psychological trait is a mix of master-slave behaviours. Though both characteristics are essential for our survival, there is a danger of people forgetting this in built mechanism.

In an organisation when people are entrusted with various kinds of powers, they assume the role of the master or God. Those entrusted within their command then have to assume the role of the obedient servants. Some play their role as servants too well with unquestionable loyalty to their masters. In an organisation where a boss happens to have subordinates showing abnormal dog like loyalty there is a danger of the boss getting elevated to a pseudo psychic level of a god. The boss starts thinking as the god of all that he or she surveys!

The danger starts from this. Organisational career growth is a lure built in the system to exploit the ambition of people to move from the servant to master levels. But it works for only immature people who are so gullible and foolish into forgetting their real individual nature when someone praise them meaninglessly or award them with a temporary title of a 'higher' post.

So for all individuals in an organisation the 'god-dog' syndrome develops to varying degrees. For those at the top levels the god characteristics most prominent infront of those below. But unfortunately for this 'god' to maintain his or her  status as 'god' a higher level of 'dog' nature has to be exhibited infront of his or her boss. Thus the god-dog trait has to be highest at the highest levels. Such a situation makes these unfortunate fellows at the top organisational levels always in a pseudo mind set which makes them forget about their true self.

Many such pseudo gods face the 'fish-out-of-water' situation when they are out from the organisation by retirement or retrenchment.

Their life becomes pathetic at some point of time due to their earlier acquired pseudo god status with no 'dogs' to serve any more!

This syndrome is everywhere. But in the governmental organisations where 'gazetted' powers are more, the syndrome is more damaging. Damaging the true self of the individuals.

Organisations are made for the benefit of all individuals in the society and are groupings of conveniences for societal order and development.

As the society develops with all people contributing to a common cause, all individuals will become part of some organisation or many organisations at the same time.

They will have to play the roles of the master and the slave all at the same time.

But role plays should not change the true self.

But for immature individuals it is very difficult to realise the realities of life.

If they learn to escape from pseudo life situations such as the god-dog syndrome, it will do much good to them, to their family and the society all at the same time.
