School Education System in India: Systematic Undermining of the Constitution !

Pained by the way the Indian school education system has become , I wrote about some of those things which came into my mind in the following blogs:

This is another article pertaining to this that I found in the net:

The latest report on the topic by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India [ASSOCHAM] gives an alarming picture of the rising cost trend of schooling in this otherwise not so rich nation. Anyone concerned about the future of this country should read this report and think about it:

A citizen of this country born and educated during the Nehruvian era, I feel sorry for the young parents who have to take the responsibility of educating their young ones in the present era.

What is the responsibility of the government ?

If it cannot ensure a decent education and health care to its citizens at affordable costs the question that is pinching the hearts of every average Indian is going to shake the country :

Why do we have a government ?

If educating a tiny tot is to cost double that of educating an engineering degree level student, it only shows that we do not have a responsible government.

Why are the citizens deprived from knowing  the income-expense statements of the schools and colleges of India ?

How competent are the governing bodies of the various educational trusts and societies to manage their funds?

What do they do with their surplus funds ?

How much they actually pay their teaching staff and other staff ?

What are the illegal methods they adopt to siphon out their profits ?

How much money they spend annually to keep the government watchdog agencies silent ?

Why do the government pay hefty salaries to the teaching staff of the government run educational institutions and yet allow those institutions to  sink year after year ?

Is the country is moving ahead with any hidden agenda ?

How do we ensure basic education to all as envisaged by the Constitution ?

Even after six decades this country could not even ensure 80 percent literacy for its citizens while the whole world has moved forward, would it not be logical to presume a hidden agenda somewhere ?

Why are the media of this country silent on these ?

Why are the 'aam admi' political parties silent ?

What happened to the charity agenda of the religious educational organizations ?

Why do they exploit both the teachers and the students now after availing all the concessions from the past ?

How are some individuals allowed to do educational business in the guise of religious trusts ?

Why there is no auditing of the incomes of educational institutions ?

Why are the educational institutions allowed to make surplus funds when they don't have any future programs for expanding their activities ?

Why there is no tax on profits from educational business ?

Why don't the government allow legal profit sharing in educational business but compels those with that mindset to do illegal profit sharing ?

Can any one answer these questions ?

  1. Today`s parents ... dream the best for their kid and want to do all the possible things for their kid. Hence they are willing to pay the even up to 5 lakh as even donation so that their kid get admmission to good school. By doing they are giving themself a mental satisfaction that they did THE BEST for their kid.Even i know parents who`s more than half of their salary is spent on kid`s education. Still they are happy... AND business people/government are taking advantage of such sentiments. If you see in business point of view... Academeic /education field is the highest profit making sector. Today`s schools are much beyond comparable with older schools . Now schools are more like luxury having central air conditioned hall/classrooms... even school bus air conditioned and such a big infrastructure... which was unimaginable during our school age.
Now this question is to you... WHOM U BLAME? GOVERNMENT/BUSINESSPEOPLE WHO ARE MAKING PROFITS ... OR THOSE PARENTS HAVING HIGH DREAM AND HOPE AND WANT TO DO ALL THE POSSIBLE THING FOR THEIR KIDS?
Education is now a mere business. BELIEVE IT OR NOT..

    1. I would try to answer your question to me in the following manner:

No doubt the high ambition of the parents is primarily responsible for such a situation. This in turn is arising out of their fear of the unknown future and their selfishness.

But consider this: If the people like to use some drugs that they find giving them a feeling of joy and pleasure and are willing to pay anything for that it is a good business opportunity for many others. But then why the government comes into the stage to prevent both the consumer and the businessmen from this 'good' thing ? Why should the government interfere in something when the consumer and the supplier are not complaining ?

But that is not the way it happens. We know it. Because when you analyze deeply, such things are injurious to the society in the long run. That's the reason why the governments step in to prevent or regulate such businesses which are apparently looking beneficial to all.

If education has degraded as a highly profit making business where the damages to the society are farfetched, governments have a role to play to regulate it. If that is not done the consequences are to be faced by all for a few generations ahead.
